Here's a little piece of trivia. I'm an amateur radio operator. When conditions are right and I speak with someone via aurora, usually to Russia or Scandinavian countries, when speaking it has an effect like you might hear in cartoons for speaking underwater. It's a bubbly effect.

There are times of solar storms which we see aurora, or Northern Lights. This is also a form of refraction to cause a radio signal to be bounced off of.

I drove up way up north to Yellowknife 2-3 times years back and could practically run my fingers through blue green northern lights it was better than beautiful and peacefully emotional I loved it

The Aurora Borealis does not sound like that. I was in Alaska on top of a mountain, the Aurora Borealis was just above me, and the trees I was standing under. It's an amazing sound of slight crackling of energy, it was so close I felt I could reach out and touch it.
