Yes. Do not be afraid to check out the same song in different venues. I agree with the other commenter to do the same song in different performances. She changes things up. Also we Weirdos and Warriors enjoy reactions to entire concerts KEXP for example which is fantastic. For a younger Aurora check out her Tiny Desk performance

Good reaction and analysis. This is a good example of how Aurora arranges her live performances based on situations and the availability of sounds and instruments. A good example I would love to hear a musicians analysis of is two versions of the same songs from different performances in one video. For instance "Through the eyes of a child" stripped VEVO version and Nidarosdomen. Or for a more "angry" song, the powerful "the seed" both original video and the HAIK concert. The HAIK concert version also brings a surprise male choir in the middle of the song, and her joy over the surprise is wonderful to see.

Really enjoyed your reaction! I find it fascinating in this song how, as the song progresses, she goes from lines like "He told me I belong in a Churchyard" to alternating lines reciting words in a secret language. And during this, the character of her vocals shifts seamlessly back and forth in accordance with the language being used. And somehow she never seems out of breath or out of sync (in a live performance). Aurora has said that the words in this secret language have meaning, but so far only Aurora knows what they mean. She has said that the words are based on emotions, and I think the language evokes Sigur Rós' Hopelandic language (based on emotions and sounds).

A bass guitar? Is there a six-string bass? Silja (the female singer) is part of Aurora's band. She is also Norwegian. Probably the most energetic performance of this song was the KEXP show in Iceland. Same musicians, same song...but things got wild. She danced madly and sang madly. It was grand! All the songs for that short, very small studio audience concert were special.

Your reactions are always nice and interesting. Fredrik on the bass guitar is a regular guitarist in Aurora's band. Magnus is her regular drummer, and he has been with her from the start. Silja Sol has been her back up singer for some years now. She also has a solo career and is a wonderful vocalist, as you noticed. Aurora has a lot of different versions of her songs, and imo this version is not the most interesting one. You could react to All is Soft Inside from the KEXP, it's a wonderful live performance. Here you will also find Churchyard, and it could be interesting for you to have a look at that version. When it comes to live performances the 2015 Nobel concert is a must. She does three songs, Murder Song, Runaway and Half the World Away. Another very nice live appearance is Forgotten Love, live at Lindmo. Here you will also get to know her dancing skills. Aurora has several outstanding videos, not to forget. The River, the Seed, Apple Tree, Winter Bird, Day Dreamer, Running with the Wolves, Runaway, Queendom.. - they are all fabulous artwork. The version of It Happened Quiet at the Current is the best version. It is just her and Silja on an acoustic guitar. It is so beautiful! The version of Churchyard at KEXP in Iceland is the best version because it is very dynamic and upbeat.

Great reaction! Aurora said: "'Churchyard' is just like the concept of someone bigger using their power in the wrong way, that happens all the time in politics, with children, women. I wanted the songs to feel empowering - like at the end of 'Churchyard', she comes back to haunt him." Not my favoritt from Aurora, but it is a fun song! I get a type of "Tribe song" vibe from it... I find it useful to know a bit about the meaning of the song BEFORE lisening to it, but you many think that is not correct for a "reactor" :-) Her songs are often deep, so a little help before you react will give you a better understanding why she sings it in the way she does sometimes... Why it is "screaming" in some places, and why the song almost are "crying" in other places.... Aurora has many times said that her first priority are NOT pitch perfect, it is the correct sound /feel that gets her message trough.... She also tells us that if she eaven cry's in the songs sometimes! It is ALL heart and commitment to the message... She is not easy to work with; the producer was intervjued and said that it often was perfect on the first recording, but Aurora wanted to do it again and again for get the correct "feel" also :-) In another intervju they said that "she brings 90% to the song", so she almost produces the entire thing herself. That girl is pretty and small, but she is very inteligent, and know exactly what she wants !! "I am not easy to work with, I am very bossy" she said. You can take different things from this song. It sounds bright and bouncy and fun, as far as the music goes. But listen to the lyrics and it is (pitch black) dark. The kind of song that one person can listen to and feel upbeat and happy, then another person comes along and wonders why person #1 isn't bawling their eyes out.
