Aurora, Colorado - Dual Tone Whelen WPS 3016 - Siren Test 11/12/2019

CoSirenCars presents a video of a dual tone Whelen WPS 3016 performing a three minute wail tone and a 30 second whoop tone for the yearly test. This 3016 is in front of Vassar Elementary School in Aurora. I was recording from a hill north of the school, so I was able to get a good POV of the siren. I was next to a busy street, so there was a lot of road noise.
The City of Aurora tests its sirens on the second Tuesday of March and November every year.

@@Gvacs are they ESC-2020s or ESC-2030s because whelen controls can’t be customized The sirens you are referring to are probably running on a UV I have the Whelen programming software and I’m getting a Whelen this fall there is not any settings that allows you to customize the tones for the 2030 but the 2020 had additional settings for the pitch that you could adjust but they still can’t do dual tone as all the digital Whelen controls can only output one audio channel instead of 2 like the UV or ESC-864s analog tone generator The physical hardware of a whelen digital controller can only do single tone

Wow, when I lived in Aurora, they did away with the whoop whoop all-clear. They started it again?

Yeah I was quite surprised also! But they did bring back the whoop tome for hazardous chemical spills not as an all clear tone.
