@@reengineer2497 That is more down to many people's ideas of normality I believe. I'm thinking about her body movements. How she uses her hands so actively both in performances and interviews. How her eyes widens into intense stares. How when she dances, it is often something that might be called interpretive dancing. If one includes interviews Aurora is so refreshingly honest and blunt in her observations, which is unusual. She is so liberated and free from self consciousness. She is unbiased, speaks tolerance and acceptance. Aurora also speaks up for nature, for mental health et cetera. I think she is a wonderful human being, and a terrific role model. When you have freed yourself from society's conventions to such a large degree, it is easy to be viewed as weird and downright strange. Personally I wish to be more like her.
@reengineer24973 жыл бұрын
@@Abbadonhades the need to express our true selves or truth directly puts us in path of conflict mate. its a journey through adversity. life becomes a lot more challenging for those who see more. The Movie Dead Poets Society captures this very beautifully. I was too sure about myself that what I was doing by encouraging people in my life to observe more, learn more and trying to encourage people to their authentic selves was "good" but like a monkey that tried to save a fish out of water, sometimes making people see what was possible, because I was incapable of helping them figure out how to handle adversity my actions lead to lot of hurt and suffering, so it kind of looks like such encouragement is harmless and perhaps fruitful only for a subset of human population. I'm not contradicting you, I just wanted to share how trying to change the world by believing just that taught me how ignorant that belief is. which is why Aurora reminds me not just to encourage people to be authentic selves, but also to do something about creating a world that would be gentle with those who want to be themselves. in the end aren't practical actions what we need ? what actually brings change ?
@reengineer24973 жыл бұрын
@@Abbadonhades which is why I always also talk about anticipating adversity, its becomes absolutely necessary to understand where a person is coming from, the kind of circumstances they are in to reasonably assure so that we don't take away the choice ( red pill | green pill ) from the person. and when we are mindful that this is the case .. sometimes we help people by not helping, letting them suffer so they don't suffer more .. universe and life seem to be indifferent. this reasoning just shifts perspective so much, your r understanding of suffering, hurt, and life change drastically. almost liberating.

We should go back to the music being about the music, not about worshipping the person that the music represents. Aurora is an incredible artist whose work I want everyone to be able to appreciate, but celebrity culture is toxic to artistry, and if she became “huge” like Katy Perry or the like, I’m sure it would run the risk of negatively impacting her music. It seems like this is yet another thing that Scandinavians are just a more evolved species about - plenty of Scandinavian artists have expressed similar anti-fame sentiments over the years, most notably Björk, and I really hope that Aurora doesn’t have to go through similar traumas in her career.

She is getting bigger and bigger and has more and more followers that really adore her. But she is using that fame to be a good role model for them. To lift their spirits. Not for her own "pleasure". We also have a national final. It's called Melodi Grand Prix, or MGP. We also have many newcomers listed. It differs from year to year though. This year we actually had mostly well-known people. Alexander Rybak went and won the whole thing. But I wish some of our most popular and unique artists would join MGP sometimes in the near future, with some great songs with a different sound. That would be awesome. Sigrid has said that she loves Eurovision. But I doubt that she will participate anytime soon, because the only problem with participating in MGP and eventually Eurovision is that it takes up a lot of time. When artists near their big break-through one could argue that this time is better spent in making new music, playing many conserts, and promo.
