Now that I’ve viewed many of Aurora’s performances I believe this is my absolute favourite. This magical, mystical artist not only sings like an angel, moves with natural rhythm, writes with the wisdom of an elder and the innocence of a child. A uniquely gifted creator that brings music back to a place we haven’t been for a while. The most inspiring new artist in decades. She is a force of nature.

Yeah, I think your description fits pretty correctly how I am feeling a part of 'Aurora''s world personality, she's soOo magic, fresh, alive ... last time I felt this kind of feelings was with Björk, long long time ago but even then, miss Aurora give me something strange, animal and kind of tribal that her heart mother didn't gave me so ... I really think she's a very special artist/person you can fall in love forever without even know exactly why, but you don't really care after all, because she's healing you in a unique way you adore so much that nothing else can counter it

As I land like a flower on the meadow Love is wild Are your dreams as dead as they seem? Are your dreams as dead as they seem? Trigger warning: S.A. That song is one of my favourites of hers of all time... I can't see it as anything other than a story about s*xual assault... The only lyric that doesn't make sense is "love is wild" because that is not love, but maybe the phrase is there because the perpetrator is often somebody who is supposed to love us, like a parent, family member, or a romantic partner. Does anyone have other theories about the song meaning?
@gigglingchicken8444 Жыл бұрын
@MellowJelly this is my personal take on it. The song is telling a story of a person who has been abused by a loved one, either family member, some trusted person, or lover. The person is looking at it from a dissociated perspective as the brain can blur the details to protect you or the person refuses to remember fully due to being traumatized and confused by the actions of a loved one. Being in love or loving someone is not always rational and can distort how the loved one is really treating you. The mind may come up with excuses to tolerate the abusive behavior and the storyteller is trying to unravel what happened through their emotions. I believe the storyteller in the song is coming to the realization that they need to take action and gain back their voice but lamenting on love being complicated and what they tolerated to get to this point because they thought this person loved them and they loved them back. They are gaining the strength to take action but are mourning the loss of the love they thought they had. This realization is very hard on a person especially through a dissociated perspective. Love is wild is the vocalization and the tone of coming to this realization. This is my perspective. I don't think their is one perspective or take to this song but this is my personal take on it and I hope it helped to unravel your own thoughts on the song.
@stangovers74419 ай бұрын

It's not about SA- it's about fallin in love for the first time and being excited but also scared about trustin another human that much. She literally..explains what her songs mean. Y'all gotta stop puttin y'alls bad experiences onto others constantly. No the world isn't a big ass horror show just ready to pounce at any moment's notice. "Throughout the song, Aurora paints a vivid picture of the intensity and unpredictability of love. She lyrically emphasizes how love can take hold suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving us breathless and overwhelmed. The realization that vulnerability and heartbreak might follow is delicately woven into the fabric of the song." Like please man. Not every single thing is "man bad!! CLEARLY!" .. that's your brain. Not reality. @@MellowJelly

As I land like a flower on the meadow Love is wild [Verse 2] You fell apart Like a stone can be broken into sand A thousand pieces Spread across a crying land [Pre-Chorus 2] And you can’t remember that day But you know it happened quiet So quiet [Chorus 1] Words falling out through the window All that remains is a silent call Is the Earth colored red? As I land like a flower on the meadow Love is wild [Bridge] Are your dreams as dead as they seem? Are your dreams as dead as they seem? [Chorus 2] Don’t you speak over my voice I will return from the shadows And I’ll bleed in your bed Turn it red Like the ground outside your window Love is wild [Outro] Love is wild Love is wild Love is wild Love is wild

What a fantastic performance. I especially love the version of "It happened quiet". The harmonies between Aurora and Silja is so good! And Silja is a accelent guitar player as well. Bravo! 👏👏👏

I imagine 6 days later you’ve fallen down the Aurora rabbit hole. I know I did after stumbling upon her for the first time here. Enjoy! So many amazing performances. I personally enjoy her lives much more than any of the studio versions. If you haven’t done so already, check out the KEXP performance and the Nobel Peace Prize concert 🤩🙇🏻♀️

Thanks for putting this out, The Current :) Such musical and artistic mastery in this performance. The way she controls the softness and volume of her voice to match the spirit and meaning of the words, the story of the song. And not to mention the quality of recording, it captures all the different textures in her voice so well. This one, and especially the last performance, holds a very special place in my heart because that was the first time I heard Aurora. I was instantly captivated, diving down the KZbin rabbit hole of more songs by her and interviews. I kind of still am, a year later! It's a joy to hear and see this trio of wonderful performances all in one go. It's just what I needed today. So thank you, and keep doing what you are doing, reaching out to new artists out there so that they can be discovered.

Animal : [Verse 1] You are the victim The victim of my love I dangle up on rooftops Before I push you off I stand at the headlights Looking for a corner where I can't be found With a goddess in my right eye Watching every lover on the battleground [Pre-Chorus] You're hunting for love Killing for pleasure Lost in a concrete jungle If I am alone Make me a stranger Lost in a concrete jungle (He-lay) [Chorus] I'm an animal, animal Hunting for an animal, animal Hunting for love Killing for pleasure Lost in a concrete jungle (He-lay) [Verse 2] Isolation makes me hungry Will you stay here till I sleep? You'll return home in the morning But you never really leave I keep the memories alive The weight upon my shoulders felt so divine With a goddess in my right eye Watching every step I take before I die [Pre-Chorus] You're hunting for love Killing for pleasure Lost in a concrete jungle If I am alone Make me a stranger Lost in a concrete jungle (He-lay) [Chorus] I'm an animal, animal Hunting for an animal, animal Hunting for love Killing for pleasure Lost in a concrete jungle (He-lay) [Post-Chorus] I become an animal, animal Hunting for an animal, animal [Bridge] Let me become an animal Let me become an animal 'Cause when you are an animal You lose control [Pre-Chorus] You're hunting for love Killing for pleasure Lost in a concrete jungle If I am alone You make me a stranger Lost in a concrete jungle (He-lay) [Chorus] I'm an animal, animal Hunting for an animal, animal I become an animal, animal Hunting for an animal, animal Hunting for love Killing for pleasure Lost in a concrete jungle (He-lay) [Outro] I'm an animal, animal Hunting for an animal, animal I become an animal, animal Hunting for an animal, animal (Ho, ho) _____________________________________________ Churchyard: [Intro] He told me I belong in a churchyard He told me I could walk away but I wouldn't get far Tell me, how do people know what is hurt, what is love?
