I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they think English is a soft and beautiful language. It's nice to hear. =)

Czech people think that, too. To me it's crazily melodic (like a song really) because Czech language is soft but sometimes feels very monotonous.

I'm a native English speaker but never once did I think I was speaking some sort of a beautiful language. In a way it kind of seems robotic to me cause I feel like the words are precise and in my experience other languages sometimes take shortcuts with a single word for what they mean, or in other languages it just sounds like it's flowing out rather than hearing word by word. I don't know I guess I can't tell but I hope English is that.

Maybe she time traveled back to this day from 2029 to do this interview? Acutally, I think she is speaking this way because she is in England, and she is trying to fit in. When she is home, I think she reverts back to her normal tones...

Having a "musical" ear and English not being her first language she might mirror accents to whom ever she is speaking to. In norway we learn UK English at school, but might revert to an American accent because that is what we mostly listen to through tv/movies etc (yes, we don’t dub). I have a northern English accent usually (it becomes a bit scouse when I’m in Liverpool 😬), but if I’m talking to an American I just naturally flip over more towards that accent. Same if I meet Irish, Scottish, Australians etc. It’s weird I guess but I think it’s because as I mentioned earlier, English is not our first language :)

The problem with the Norwegian language opposed to english, (speaking mostly of poetic language) is that Norwegian seems to have cut out or skipped a lot of words that we need to express ourselves. They are not part of our everyday language. The English language gives us a lot of what we miss without sounding like we are reciting old books when we talk about complex emotions. Norwegians are somewhat cynical and cold(I am one, relax) and it reflects in our written language. I love to write, and I am equally bad at each, but I prefer English.

I think it's not about Norwegian. She speaks beautiful Bergensk, which may help, but mostly it's about Shakespeare, from he to Dylan and even Bowie. Her writing is quite Dylan in Running with the Wolves and Under the Water. Queendom is completely Shakespearean for me, see SONNET 18 and SONNET 130. They master the art of deploying images and sounds to deliver great imagination for storytelling, which is the best English you can get.
