As Brian Eno said in an interview: The Norwegian singer Aurora, who's one of the most extraordinary people i've met. Absolutely original human being. You just think, who designed her ? She is ... she's such a oneoff wonderful person. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJTWiHSge715hdE

7:00 When Aurora was little (like 11), there was a woman, living alone and keeping to herself in her neighbourhood. So, Aurora made up this story about her being a serial-killer and later made this song from the story. There's a follow-up called "In bottles".

Aurora is a true artist. She wrote many songs as a young person, aka, a child. Just childhood imagination 😊

Very nice reaction, I love this song and performance, it is much older than you stated, I think it was around 8 years ago, before she was completely comfortable performing live. As an introvert it took her hundreds of live performances to get where she is today, where she actually has fun and enjoys her banter with the audience. She shines so bright but somehow still remains a hidden gem. Thanks, looking forward to more Aurora on your channel, hopefully soon.

Hahaha. Aurora is highly inteligent, writes all her own songs and is always avant-garde. Stick with her. You will be taken on a musical journey you wont soon forget. +1 sub.

This performance was actually in August 2016 (despite the video date), and she was 20 (she is 28 now). She uses that particular creepy singing style for this song, and to a lesser degree in the sequel "In Bottles". The difference with In Bottles is that the lyrics are not so graphical as in this one, you wouldn't guess immediately, that it was about these kind of things. Here is a quote from her from 2015: "I often sit at home and write stories. I've been doing that since I was a kid. And sometimes I write songs based on some of the characters in that book. One of them is a very scary lady, who appeared in my head when I was 11 years old. It eventually became the song In Boxes". "I've already written two new songs about the same woman from In Boxes, so you'll be hearing more about her story in the future." (We only got 1 additional song "In Bottles" never a 2nd new one about this woman).

Great reaction to a fantastic suggestion! Even though she's made many great songs since this one, this is still one of my absolute favorites of hers. I just love her dark sense of humor, and I love the song musically too. As for being weird, her fans are affectionately known as Warriors & Weirdos, and she calls herself weird. As for getting a cat, she once quipped that she has a cat feeding dish, but no cat. 😼

Nice reaction👍 Love this song and performance😍🎃🎃 Aurora rarely write songs about herself, she’s more concerned about what’s happening in and to this world, she has a vivid imagination🦋 This was about a woman living in Aurora’s neighbourhood when Aurora was a kid, and the children were scared of her. She wasn’t dangerous or anything, but Aurora with her imagination wrote this song😍 Could you please react to Jacob Collier and Aurora with “A rock somewhere” (Collier song) x “The Seed” (Aurora song) live on a small platform in the sea of Svalbard, Norway (for Greenpeace)😍💙💚

Hello! Sinister and creepy. She would love that. She are a human with almost no filter and she is so kind, quirky and humble you would love creeping into this rabbithole. You could take almost every song of her and love it.... certainly i do it anyway. For me it is her melancholy side who are fitting the best but she have songs all over the place but in a good way. Runaway in Nobel peace price concert is a great beggining for your journey i think. Subs you for this journey. see ya soon. Great reaction for this fantastic little song.

you find the right one and aurora is very generous with reaction channels - but she dislike ai generated aurora imitation. i guess you really liked it ;-). thanks for the reaction. she had a old woman in her neighborhood and her phantasie run wild about this person. aurora is something special.

Most of Aurora's songs are quite serious in some way. This is the only one that I know of that is comedic.

Her other songs are so much the perspective of being light and love. This song is one of her first and it cuts in at a dark direction. Maybe being whole is holding both sides.

Really recommend, after Halloween, to try her performance of Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) from the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert. Great reaction Jenn 👌🏻👌🏻

Someone else you might enjoy is Agnes Obel. She is a Danish musician/singer. Try her song The Curse (Berlin Live Session). I found her several years ago and still love listening to this one
