The production wanted her to walk down the stairs while singing. She told them: I know how to sing, but I'm not very good walking down stairs. I'm clumsy and may fall. Thats probably why she is rather left in the backgrounds. She wasn't over the roof exited about being on the Oscars herself either. She has little interrest in celebrities as such. She called it a rather silly thing (No warriors would be there😊). I believe she went a long because her fashion designer sister would make her outfits, and she could bring both of her sisters with her. She loves being with them. To add all the International voice over singers was also a last call decision.

My favorite thing about Aurora doing this, is the thought of all the children around the world listening to different singers, but they are all listening to Aurora. She is in ALL the versions.

I remember an interview before the Oscars performance, with all the singers gathered, Aurora included. "What can we expect tonight?" Aurora: "We sing" 🤣

As you may noticed towards the end of the Oscars performance, Aurora came down from "the sky" and walked to the rightmost place in the line-up and delivered the last high vocal runs of the song. With perfection, of course.

Aurora had absolutely no desire to stay with the Oscars any longer than necessary. Instead of going to the after show party, she went to the nearest snack bar down the street. There are interviews with her about the Oscars and you can see that the superficial glamour reporters couldn't do anything with her. Aurora didn't fit in at all. Even her homemade crown and gold sneakers made the reporters uncomfortable. How can someone wear something like that to such an event? I bet that's why she was parked on the stairs at the back of the stairs during the song, so that none of her could see more than necessary.

So agree with you ! - didn undestand a bit of the belting and schreeming on the stage... but this is phrobaly how the americans like it ( you are canadian ...? - a bit more like us in northern Europa). In Auroras vercion I heard the story..... and she sings it a bit in norwegian folkmusic style... And I hope Aurora NEWER become a Disney princess, NEWER - EVER. Disney have stolen so much of our culture - and I hope Auroa is wise enough to develope herself in her own way - and stay the .. away from Euroamerican culture sugaring. Aurora and Oskar... I first saw a small video with Aurora and her sisters where they prepare for the Oskar nomination and shop in town. Although... Then I saw an interview at Oskar in the evening where two journalists try to ask typical Oskar questions on Aurora but had to give up because Aurora is just so Aurora and they didn't know how to handle this openness of Aurora. Absolutely hilarious. And then Oskar... hide her away is the right term, but, so many Princesses in white dresses and here is Aurora, light green shirt with trousers underneath and trainers at the very edge but sticking out like Cinderella.... Ha! Everyone here has told you that her version is the best and your smile after 5 seconds of singing... nothing more to say. Now my Tuesday can start, can't get any better.

When it comes too sheer beauty of the sound of the voice there was no one on that stage that comes even close to Aurora. Sure, Mendez have bigger pipes but the sounds that comes out of Aurora's head just floor's me every time.

omg wow.....I forgot what a TRAINWRECK that Oscars version is lol! Hadn't seen that in a while. I'm sorry, but it sounds like the cast of Glee loaded up on a bunch of amphetamines, while everyone's in-ear monitors were tuned slightly sharp or flat relative to everyone else. It's just.....a lot. That's for sure. >_< By comparison? Aurora's version is stunning. Powerful, but in a subtle nuanced way. It's gorgeous. And the way she comes into the bridge after the 2nd chorus....that rising _"eeeeeehhhh"_ vocalization, gives me goosebumps.

The Oscars really made a mistake putting Aurora way in the back, but it doesn’t matter, Aurora version of the song is just better period! For the next poll, I suggest the music video of the song Storm, a collaboration she did with Qing Feng Wu. It’s a great song with a beautiful music video.

She was hiding there in the back of the stage like a proper cinderella. Like the one from the czech version of the fairytale, which we all adore. (By the way the arpeggiated voice in The Conflict of the Mind somehow reminds me of the title song of the movie).

There are so many of her fans who have seen her 3 times in a row, but then there are also 2 fans who didn't get tickets because there are some who see her 3 times. But such is life. I haven't seen her live yet, but I was lucky and got tickets to Roskilde in July. Just hoping the fans don't sing so loud that I might have a chance to hear her.

What a coincidence, today, when it's Aurora's day, I went to the post office to pick up all her LPs on vinyl, my happy day, part 1. Thanks for reacting to both songs! This Oscars performance was my first encounter with Aurora. Her beautiful voice intrigued me, and all the adventure started there. So even though she hid in the background, there must have been some people who noticed her! ;)

I love your concern (anger) about Aurora on the Oscar stage. The reason why there is a Norwegian singer there, in addition til Aurora, is that Lisa Stokke (great musical actress) plays Elsa in the two movies in Norwegian. Aurora only does the part of "the voice" that Elsa hears in (all versions of) Frozen 2. So it makes sense to put her some place "secret" on stage. I´m sure Aurora didn´t mind, since she is not about fame and attention. She also is more free than the others, and she came down on stage in the end. But I get you, I have mixed feelings about this.

I did not enjoy that first version much I have to admit. Not knocking it, and she can clearly sing (they all can), but it's just not for me. Aurora is though, so not surprised I like her version better 😊. I wish she would do a full cover of "Fields of Gold". Eva Cassidy's version is incredible, but after hearing a short clip with Aurora on the piano, I'd love more. Quite sure I'll forget about that for a while once her album is out though😄.
