I grew up with the Duke's music, Bowie is a genius artist of our times, and this is a particular song I always liked. And then comes Aurora again and makes the song hers, she's such an amazing story teller and I always think about David when I listen to the song and my mind pictures David going nuts on Aurora's version of his song and hugging the Sweet Viking Fairy Queen.....dunno

The original will always be the original, and it is truly a masterpiece. Auroras version is very pretty, but so different that comparing the two would not be fair for either version. I think Bowie would have loved it. It is possible (although not likely) that he got to hear it before he died, as it was a part of her regular set list more than a year before his death.

Nice reaction! I love Aurora's cover of this song. When she performed it live at Nidarosdomen she said "This is a really, really beautiful song. It's not mine, but I wish it was. I was a 16 year old when the Bowie album came out and Aurora does a very fine delicate job of this song, I enjoyed this

this is a difficult song to sing so we can't be too choosy she did good but I think she has a feeble voice in comparison with Bowie delivery.

As awesome as this version is, I think the Howard Stern Show and Nidarosdomen versions are even better. I think she gets more emotional when she doesn't have to play at the same time.
