Love this song. I first heard it during the Nidrosdomen concert. When she sang "when will my healing come" was so heart wrenching and pure. I was blown away. Great reaction mate.

Aurora wrote this masterpiece right after the Norway attack - 22.7.2011 where one of her best friends was killed by a mass murderer. 77 were killed in two different attacks the same day.

Hi mace, of all the songs by aurora this song for me is what stands her apart form any other artist, words alone will never describe the genuine heart felt emotions in her voice.shes a special human being we are blessed to hear her.❤️🍏❤️🍏

Different recordings of this fantastic song are very different. The Nidaros version is harmonic and beautiful. This version also has a tendecy towards dissonans. That would never happen without intention with Aurora. I really think this is just an illustruation of the disharmony that came to Norway (and the rst of Scandinavia) at that time. Great reaction!

I’ve never seen someone recommending this one, but i love her Leonard Cohen cover of Famous Blue Raincoat, the video is called “aurora sings cohen”, he’s one of her favorite artists and I think their styles match very well

I prefer the Nidrosdomen version. I feel like if you had watched that version first, you would have cried, haha. The orchestra behind it really gives it the extra emotional OOMF.

you are crazy (kidding, just being dramatic). You can tell in this version how much she means it. Having an orchestra has never made her songs more emotional, in fact, the opposite. While the Nidrosdomen concert is amazingly beautiful, it's more like theatrics. What I love about Aurora is her ability to convey emotion so easily, and this version of the song is so raw and powerful and proves what a great artist/singer she is.

Norway didn’t try, we did it! And most people, including the ones that had lost their loved ones, felt it was the right thing to do. It doesn’t help to show hate, cause then the horrible mass murderer would have gotten it the way he wanted. Cause he wanted people to show hate, that was one of his purposes. What’s the right way to react to something like that?

You have reacted to most of her live performances but I think you still have "Gentle Earthquakes" and "Infections of a diffrent kind" to go. I would recommend "Gentle Earthquakes" (KEXP-version) and "Infections of a diffrent kind"(Haik-version) . When this is done you have most of her third album "A diffrent kind of human" left. Not many live performances there tho. I like your Aurora-reactions, it is nice to se people finding her "Queendom"...

great reaction. watching this version (Nidarosdomen verdion is musically more powerful, but not as raw) is hard for me bc we aren’t just watching someone sing about a tragedy, but also a personal loss and connection...she lost a friend and it happened in her home Norway. she looks off and it seems she is picturing it happening.

Targeting the next generation of your political opponents as victims of mass murder is about as far as you possibly can go from civilised modern democratic views. I'm not even going to acknowledge him by mentioning his name, but I believe he is the most evil Scandinavian person in history. Such a sad and horrifying event. I remember the news as if it was yesterday, the disgust I felt and still feel whenever I think of Utöya.
