I received my first set for Christmas in 1967. I am now 64 years old. This is by far the most impressive layout I have ever seen. Awesome job. What a great tribute to your brother. Thanks for posting and sharing.

That is a beautifully done layout! The extensive time and attention to detail is extraordinary. May the memories of your Brother lay upon your heart and mind and this layout will forever be his gift to you. Thanks for sharing and God Bless!! Marc Natividad West Coast Slot Cars

OMG!!! What a beautiful layout!! My brother and I had an Aurora setup in our basement when we were kids. I believe it was after the vibrator cars and it had those great speed controllers with a wheel and a speedo dial. We had so many hours of fun with that set, many of our friends would bring their cars over to run on our track. We had the Pan America Mexico layout on top of a sheet of plywood.

@@mafyind Am I to understand that these are all vibrators ?
@mafyind2 жыл бұрын
@@oldhick9047 You understand correctly. All bodies (vibrator, T-Jet, Bauer, Faller, and custom resin) are vibrator powered. My power source is exclusively AC which the vibes are specifically designed for and in fact gets the best performance out of these motors. Actually quite an Ingenious design by Derek Brand. My layout pays tribute to these vibrators. I love em! 😉

I've watched your video several times. Magnificent layout. The Sniff and the Tears song is perfect, It reminds me of my first year of marriage to my late wife. That, combined with the childhood memories of my slot car set (which I still have), chokes me up while I watch. Thanks and God bless. I have no doubt that your brother is proud,

Thank you so much for your sincere message, Matthew. My condolences on your loss. I’m glad the vid took you back to a pleasant time in your life. My brother also introduced me to this Sniff & the Tears tune. It felt very appropriate for the debut of this layout. Take good care and God bless you sir. 😊🙏🏻😉👍🏻❤️

My brothers and I enjoyed our Aurora slot cars in the 60's and I'm the only one of the three of us that got hooked on the hobby and kept it going till this day. Nothing like those memories with those crazy toys from the 60's. I'm sure your brother is riding every lap with you. Thanks for sharing.

This is a work of art! Perfect song for this video too! I love the use of the wall for background, something often not seen in dioramas. I look at the Vibrator Cars and see if I have that one, or one of those in that color etc.. Comes alive with these cars just wanting to go about the town!

Absolutely love and appreciate your comment! Apologies for not seeing it sooner. Michael saw an earlier rendition (see my oldest videos on this channel) which was the plywood simply sitting in saw horses. After putting that together and having newer ideas for improvement, I reconstructed this after his passing. I do indeed wish he could’ve not only seen this, but he would enjoy all the videos as well. Tho I agree with you, I’m certain he can see it now… ❤️

I always thought the T.jets gearing was too high to allow them to run around a layout at a constant speed without constantly adjusting the speed control. The vibrator design seemed best for "model motoring".

Very nice layout and awesome cars. I have now startet to collect model motoring t-jets. They are hard to get in Germany. Can you tell me what scale and brand the buildings are? Greetings from Germany , Fritz.
@mafyind3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. All my cars ride on Aurora Model Motoring Vibrator chassis, precursor to the Tjet arrival in 1963. The vibes are a tad smaller (@1/76) than the tjets (@1/72) so they look best with my HO scale (1/87) buildings which are a mix of Tyco, Walthers, Barmills models, plasticville, and lifelike.
@F150-s2h3 жыл бұрын
@@mafyind thank you for your answer. More than ten years ago i bought a walthers kit (Miss Bettys Diner) and wanted to build a small american scenery layout. Still missing is an american gas station an some other buildings. Maybe this fall i get started with that layout. Now is the time for motocycling.
