35yrs of high-end extreme rock climbing has given me a unique appreciation for nature. Now that I am old and disintegrating, need to revisit a very old hobby. Whenever I look at a layout, I can't help but wonder, "Would I want to climb that cliff?". ;-)

I did the same dimensions for N scale. I was able to use trailer hoists(like you use to pull a boat onto a trailer ) to pull it up into the ceiling. Had two of those to work that. Removable hooks from those to each corner. Wheels also on the bottom so I could roll it around when it was down on the floor. I didn't go to the solid table top as fast as you did. Really did more of a of a cutout track plan tied it to a subframe. Three levels with a helix on one end. A hidden level was on the bottom for staging and storage.
