Just watched this. Wow. The strangest thing about this whole performance is you could put this in any decade in the last 70 years from the 50's onward and it would not feel out of place. She is in her own niche, that does not comply with anything else now or before her. Her voice, lyrics, expressive performances and the emotions she puts in to her songs are like no one else past or present. There is something else about her i can not explain, but she just connects with her audience like no other. 💗

Beautiful performance! It's just a shame that there was no audience, because you want to hear a loud ovation at the end of each song, and certainly they all deserved one. The highlight for me is Soulless Creatures. I think it's just stunning, and ranks up there with her other top performances of all-time. Of course, it's made even more special by the fact that it's such a rare performance of that song.

Every time I hear an orchestra overture and accompaniment to one of Aurora’s songs it just reminds me of what a great composer she really is. I think that she has a Bach- like ear for melody and I can easily imagine full symphonic versions of most of her songs. I can only think that her love of re-composing classical music for herself as a child (because she wanted to make it “better”- with more silence between the notes) gave her a natural inclination to more write complex music than might be typical for someone so young. That being said, I really don’t think that you can separate her voice and her performance from a true appreciation of her music which is why we love her live concerts so much! Once again, thank you for reacting to this entire concert, Ashlena- it’s always such a pleasure “watching” with you.

She has not even performed it at any of her normal concerts, that I know of, and not according to setlist. thank you so much for this 50 minutes epic reaction and not skipping soulless creatures. i'm still waiting for an aurora opera (or musical). btw.: there is this 'live with aurora: music for the fellow witches' live version of 'soulless creatures' on her channel, not even 30 minutes long. the most authentic version. maybe you will never react to it, but you need to watch it (the whole series is such a source of inspiration and insight into her motivations, even if the sound quality is shite as hell. she made. the series is an introduction to five themed playlists of her songs). can't wait for next tuesday (butterflies is a very, very short song (with good reasons)).
