Aurora Aksnes - Zitat 222:
„She is absolutely fantastic. She is very… she is like a… she is like the sun and the water and all that is good. She's absolutely gorgeous. She is a weird lady. So that’s where I got it from. She is absolutely amazing.
Mom has taught me a lot, without even meaning to. She was the one who told me I should become an artist, actually. When I got a message from my management, when I was 16, and they asked if I want to be an artist, because they had seen a video of me playing the guitar and singing a song on the internet, I said no. I wasn’t interested in that. But then my mother said: ’But you have to do that, because when you sing a little bit in our living room, I can go around crying a little bit, but I feel better, that I can cry and laugh, and then I feel light afterwards.’ Then she said ’It’s something you have to share. Even if you think it's scary, at least you have to try, because I think it's important.’ So she was the one who pushed me. She has never pushed me. I've never been pushed to anything, neither about fitting in more. They were always... they gave me lots of room to be just who I am. I got to have dinner under the table, I got to do whatever I wanted. Very important. No rules for me. But yes, she’s really the reason I’m here, in every way. Mom is amazing!“

One of the most beautiful declarations of love I know, addressed to one's own mother. Pushing children, forcing them to do something, is wrong. Giving the children a little nudge in the right direction is allowed. How AURORA felt it herself. This is how parents should be. Then the children can also become an independent human being. And with luck it will be an AURORA. A big thank you to all the parents who are doing it right. Greetings from Germany

Her mother responded to me on Instagram with very kind words and then sent me pictures of the northern lights from her home in Norway :)

Her mom (and dad) are heroes. That's not hyperbole, I absolutely believe it. Aurora with almost any other parents is not the Aurora we see today. ♥️🤟

you are absolutely correct. I feel like if there were more parents in the world who accepted their children exactly as they were, we would have more AURORAs (as in, people who are unapologetically themselves while remaining kind)

If I were raised by Aurora's parents, I would be a different person today. Still the same at my core, but a lot of more healthy and happier and freer.

this should be shown in every parenting class to parents that talk about how not having rules is breaking the new generation.

A very deep thank you to both her parents ❤ What a great job they have done! They must be so proud of all the sisters :) You made Aurora, which has helped so many feel better, including me. So a very deep held thank you to them. I'm forever grateful.

Rob, thank you so very much for posting this. This is the beauty and magic that Aurora brings through her music. To think that her mom was instrumental (along with the freedom to be herself) in realizing and showing Aurora how a healing thing her music can be - that warmth after crying. Beautiful to hear this little fairy-sprite say this on camera. Thanks!

Hi Greg, I guess AURORA's mother won't have an easy time convincing AURORA to be an artist. Many artists cannot make a living from music. Such uncertainty prevents many parents from "pushing" their children in such a direction. It is all the more remarkable what her mother did here.

It's so great when parents are like that, when they don't push their children and believe in them. My parents are good people, but sometimes I really lack support and understanding from them, and belief in me. But I have my sister who keeps me going and I'm very thankful for that❤ And I'm so thankful Aurora agreed to make music, I can't imagine what I would do without her! Such a precious talented beautiful human being🌸

I know exactly how Aurora's Mum feels listening to her daughter sing. Aurora has that effect on me too. Meeting her changed me and for the better.

Well on top of that Aurora's Mum probably is like: "Wow, I made that person who makes this kind of music..."... Imagine how overwhelming this must be 😅

That was wonderful and aren’t we all grateful for her Mum! But what about her Dad? She seems very loving towards him in a couple of videos that I’ve seen but but she doesn’t seem to talk about him specifically. Does anyone know anything about her relationship with her Dad

Mostly, I have heard Aurora refer to both her mom and dad about how much she appreciates them. The only specific dad thing I remember, is when she posted a photo of herself wearing a t-shirt that said "thank you dad". Under the picture she wrote " Thank you dad, for teaching me how to climb trees, and to not be afraid of the world. That you taught me to work hard and believe in myself".

@@maxsteiner1964 Hello The fist one is working - at least in Austria. It's a "Resumè of interview with AURORA at the Public Library in Bergen 03.11.2022". The whole interview was not recorded as far I know.
