Hit the nail on the head with the message of the song. She was initially inspired to write it after hearing about conversion therapy used against people who aren't heterosexual, but she wanted the song to have a wider scope because, as you mentioned, people can be made to feel like there is something wrong with them for a multitude of reasons. Great reaction!

And Winter Bird. And in that "Nothing is Eternal" mini doc. And....well, all the time lol. Heck, there's even a video clip of her dancing at some recital back in highschool. And apparently she trained in ballet from the age of 6 to 16. She has quite a lot of training under her belt....which I think comes in handy. But she's also more interested, at least now, in totally free-form interpretive dancing. But physical movement has always been a huge part of Aurora's whole vibe.

I love how most ppl are creeped out by the background dancers & the style of the video. I grew up with Tim Burton, who is 1 of my favorite directors, so I was absolutely enthralled by this song & video. You may already know this, but she took inspiration for this video from Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland movies. So good

In addition to the point she's making about conversion therapy, she uses her wide-eyed expression and physical tics throughout the choreography because that's an aspect of her own personality that she wants to emphasise don't need curing.

@@roaldandreesen5974 Actually, she did dance for many years before she became an artist. Before she started in high school, she was destined to become a dancer. After dancing for nine years, an elimination process was needed. First she quit the dance, then the school. Now it is the music that remains as the big winner. Nor was that decision easy. - Dancing is the best thing you can do. It is an out-of-body experience. It has taught me a lot about being on a stage. Why did you choose music over dance? - It's harder to become a dancer. It's music I've always been doing in secret, it was just so much scarier. I wanted to be a musician, but it was a dancer I dared to be. After all, both are about the need to express something. Create feelings for someone. You get to do that in both dance and song.

The masks reference ancient Greece as seen through the lense of 1920's art deco, with a direct channeling of the Mad Hatter's dance in the movie 'Alice in Wonderland' (along with -- as a background -- an actual recreation of the set from that film). Plus a sample from the soundtrack to the movie 'Brazil!' Many layers. Also invoking Dionysis.

@kippys13 жыл бұрын
@@FFrozenCJ Different people posted parts of it. Someone posted a photo of the original movie set, which is easy to find on google. You can also access a video of Johnny Depp doing his Mad Hatter dance in the film. The masks that AURORA painted herself are very felliniesque, actually, and based on classical Greek tradition (also the 7-sided stars). The soundtrack to BRAZIL is also available on KZbin.

Awesome reaction!! And great job at picking up on the meaning behind the lyrics. I believe she said she wrote it in regards to "conversion therapy" still being practiced in many countries, including Norway. (I feel like parts of the choreography - for example the widening of the eyes and the head-tics and stuff - represent this as well.) She's such an empathetic human. A true gift. ✌ (Edit - I should read comments before posting, lol. This has been explained, much better, by others. 🙏✌)

Aurora is a great dancer. She has body rhythm and soul in that little body, especially around her stomach and hip area. You need to watch her other videos. She says “ I don’t need a cure for me”. The masks behind her are all the same. She’s saying she doesn’t need what they need or to become like them, because she already has her own thing.
