When Aurora talks she gives herself the time and space to feel what emerges from that ocean within then tries to express it as precise with transparency. I often find it difficult to articulate what comes up in me, it's really nice when I give myself permission to take time to truly express myself, but mostly I just feel sorry for lagging the dialogue. It's lovely to see that she doesn't rush herself, she does herself justice. She's such an accepting and expansive person

I can relate very much to the remark I just feel sorry for lagging the dialogue. I have a very hard time myself communicating my thoughts and feelings which often comes out with me taking forever to express what's on my mind and still not fully getting my point across. Hear is to us being able to express ourselves clearly and efficiently.

I always find it's easier to express myself through text because I can take as long as I want to do it without feeling bad and I can correct mistakes before I say them
@driftingpaperboat

@@kristakindle1497 I'm close to understanding why it's hard for people like me and you, it's not that we can't articulate, it's just hard to articulate in the way that we're trained to, ie. concise, precise, to the point language that is preferred by most people. But if you have an intricate inner world where you dwell most of the time and have very nuanced feelings, and if your cognition is mostly abstract and intuitive, divergent and imaginative, less filled with words but more with feelings or images, then naturally it will take some time for you to express yourself because you often have to translate it into words and go through all the connections that you feel before you can get to the point. I think Aurora does this too, it's just that she allows herself to talk out loud the connections that comes to her mind (which seem random to most people but in her mind they're all connected in some way) on the way to the point/impetus. I think there's nothing wrong with that. It's just a different mode of cognition that happens to be at odds with mainstream values that's as valuable as a thinker's cognition. That's why a lot of us prefer creative expressions, art, music, writing, etc because we feel more alive and ourselves with through these mediums.

@@driftingpaperboat you said that very well. Better than I've heard in awhile. I do see my thoughts visually and through emotions. Not words. I am also very creative and find it easier to express my thoughts through paintings and drawings then words.

@@MellowJelly Shove that label back in your fingertips, up your nervous system to your brain, recycle this, and bring it back with essence. Are you sure though? I've had a lot of people come up with or use labels like these, and it's very annoying, because once people are using these, they aren't seeing me, and I much prefer no filter. How do I know? Because I'm treated based off their understanding of a concept that is being applied on me. Oh, how can it be? Because studies have a purpose, just in society to be used on people who need treatment in professional settings. I'm a person, nothing more or less. It's this is what causes misinterpretations of people, and misunderstandings. It's until one has experienced mistreatment due to labels, then I think people will realize the effect it can have on people. Let people be the writer of their own books and vice versa. Researching is good, but applying it on to people isn't good, it can be very restrictive, and cause blind spots and tunnel vision.

I'm just so mesmerized by Aurora's character. Here in the Netherlands, she would've probably been bullied at school for the wonderful soul she is and shows on the outside. They'd find her strange, which is surely something to ridicule along the masses. I have the utmost respect for Aurora. She breathes her own personality and she's free within her being. I quite envy that as well. I let the masses speak for me in the end. I conform myself to the point I'm not me. I don't have the guts to be myself, like Aurora.

That Aurora seems like someone who feels completely comfortable in their own skin is true, but I don’t think that’s something that’s come perfectly easily for her either, or that she hasn’t had to fight to hold on to who she is… I think most of us struggle to some degree with the pain and anxiety of being judged and analyzed by others for who we are and the kind of life that brings us the greatest joy. I don’t know how old you are now, but I’m a little younger than Aurora-approaching my mid-twenties as well-and I’ve just now begun to feel more at home and at peace with who I am, and to surround myself with people who love, appreciate and celebrate me for all the wacky and wonderful things that make me me. I am not free from self-doubt, but it’s become much easier not to tear myself apart over what others might think of me now that I have so many people who love me as I am. You might be feeling stuck because you’re young and haven’t had the chance to find community yet, or you might be feeling down because you’re older now and think you’re running out of time-either way, I hope you know you’re not alone in these worries and sometimes it just takes time and a bit of luck to find your tribe. You may not be there yet, but they’re out there, waiting for you with open arms, and in the meantime, I hope you can find many more moments of joy and vibrancy in your life where no judgment, real or perceived, matters more than you feeling alive. Good luck ♥️
