Aurora Scandi Magna-cut (feat. Mini Aurora & Aurora 2)

This time it's the Aurora Scandi in Manga-cut steel by Bark River Knives. I've heard many great things about this steel, and since I missed out on the Aurora Scandi in Cruwear I had to get the Magnacut. The knife scale is in Texas Fence Post, which is made from cedar wood with turquoise inside. The knife handle smells like a buddhist temple! It is a very stylish knife, and a unique one too. I've compared the knife with Aurora 2 (CPM 3V), Mini Aurora (CPM 154), and Bushcrafter 2 (CPM 3V).

이번엔 바크리버에서 만든 오로라 스캔디에 텍사스 펜스포스트 라고 불리는 나이프 핸들이 붙어있네요. 중요한 것은 매그나컷 이라는 새로운 스틸을 접하게 되었고요, 리뷰를 보자면 한마디로 크루웨어와 엘맥스의 장점을 살린 스틸이라고 볼수 있겠고, 스뎅이라보니 관리하기는 편할것 같습니다. 지난번 오로라 스캔디 크루웨어를 고민하다가 놓쳐서 이거는 바로 질러버렸네요... 이 나이프의 특이한 점은 핸들이 향나무로 만들어져서 향이 너무 좋고 안에는 제가 좋아하는 원석인 터쿼이즈가 들어있어서 뭔가 아메리칸인디언 또는 히피 감성이 느껴지는 칼 이에요. 사이즈와 활용도 등등 다른 나이프들과 (미니오로라, 오로라2, 부시크래프터2) 비교해봤습니다. 이 나이프의 점수는: 9.0

That knife really looks beautiful...I got a arora skandi in 3v...first one ever. My impression is, it's alot heavier and robust built than I expected no wonder people use it to smash logs.

Yeahh thats exactly my thoughts too. In the photos it looks like a kitchen knife u cut fruits with but in person its quite a knife

I bought mine for my birthday next month, I unwrapped it and put it under the bed, it’s so beautiful, I only have one other bark river which is the bravo 1 in a2 black and green linen micarta which is a great knife, I can see myself having a br collection in no time 🤣

I guess it depends on what you use it for, and perhaps type of steel…! But personally if i had to choose i prefer scandi! It will stay sharp for longer… which also means easier maintenance. 그거 저도 제작년엔가 나이브즈에서 보고 loveless design 이라서 고민했었는데… 그때 지를껄 그랬나봐요 ㅋㅋ

I use my knives for mainly camping and hiking and some I keep for display only, such as the HK9cx. Owning guns and hunting is not a thing here in South Korea (very urbanized and densely populated, approx size of Virginia). Gloves cuz why not?
