Here is what the aurora looked like from 32 degrees latitude at the Mount Lemmon SkyCenter near Tucson, AZ. (This is virtually a once-in-a-lifetime display for here.)

I feel so, so lucky to have been able to witnesss this. Almost directly overhead at 52 degrees North, no clouds, and no moon.. incredible.I love your timelapse. My only regret is I didn't set one up for the night

This video gave me chills. Love the music to it as well.

Thank you. I did put some thought into the timing of the music track with respect to what was being shown. Likely most didn't notice... which is good! But I THANK YOU for mentioning it. :)

Great capture. Same in the southern hemisphere (Perth in my case) at ~-31°S. The only other time I recall was 38 yrs ago in 1986.

Beautiful video Adam. Our local astronomical society, of which I am a member, was trying to collect data for M101 project we are doing and got blown out by the aurora. Everyone was surprised by the amount of AP (aurora pollution?) we were experiencing. Hehe. Clear Skies & God Bless from the Black Hills of South Dakota. Keep up the inspiration.

Indeed... part of my job is to measure the natural night sky brightness... this was the extreme of that to say the least.

I will continue to state how unprepared I was for just how extensive this storm was at 37° N. I remember seeing aurora as a child and it was a reddish sky with some rays toward the north. This is what I was expecting. I was completely taken aback by the display. There were curtains, pickets, blobs, corona aurora… The display extend toward the Southern Sky. Utterly amazing and emotionally evocative.

First clear night for ages, I was imaging M13 and started getting some weird gradients in my subs. I went outside, feeling grumpy and expecting a neighbour’s security light to be on, and instead saw a fantastic auroral display directly overhead that went on for hours, all from my suburban backyard. Beautiful.

That is good problems right there... lol

@@AdamBlock yep! Irony is that we went to north Finland earlier this year to try to see the aurora, saw a really good display, but then one turns up out of nowhere that was almost as good, right at home in a light polluted region. And in weather that was 25 Celsius warmer! What are the odds?

Adam, never thought you could see it here in Tucson. Tonight I will try to do a Timelapse for the entire night to see if I can capture anything from Oro Valley.

GOod luck. I am not certain if we will have more displays...

That fireball is bonus. The ISS went through a couple of my frames, which I thought was pretty kool.
@AdamBlock2 ай бұрын
Excellent! When the fireball happened... my wife (who was behind me) exclaimed "aahhhh!!" So I turned to look at her..... I did capture it in the sequence though. lol

Gorgeous Adam. From my home I could see that the clouds were an interesting colour, but that was it and by the time the clouds cleared, so did the aurora.
