I never was a huge fan of boats and ships but after seeing what you have taken on and what it means to restore a classic vessel with your zeal and passion, well I will say you have made me a fan for life. I'll never look at another ship with the same eyes. Thank you and I wish you all the best with this project. I pray you get all of the resources and finances that you need to complete the Aurora and restore her to her days of glory. And I am sure that I am not the only one to say this but I hope you get her to sail under full power of ALL 5 engines.

This is a very good episode. Thanks. It's great to see the kitchen be done in essentially one big segment instead of split over 3 or 4 videos. And that bar is cool, though I'm unsure if it's very 60's-styled. It's good to see Grid and Shane get along; I was worried they didn't after the last video. And that 3D model is super cool. Will buying it support the restoration? I think that would be a great combination. Thanks, this episode was good. And for Grid especially: you have a nice day, too. Since you said so.

I was fortunate enough to have sailed on both the Island and Pacific Princess's back in the 70's so I'm familiar with USCG inspections - make sure your renovations will meet up to their requirements before you expend too much effort and spend too much money on a particular project.

I think this is awesome, monologue is fine, if people have withdrawals from the ‘cocaine’ manic fast flashy cuts of mainstream tv that’s their problem to deal with. Wow I thought we’d have to wait a lot longer for a ‘heartbeat’ in your ship, which I expected would be an engine starting, but the new bar actually brings the warmth. Probly be great for your community and morale of your crew. All the tan-colored metal rooms, could grind anybody down.

I have watched all the videos. I have some questions: I read you live on the boat. True? Where’s the power come from ? You have a bathroom on there? Where do you pump the waste to? I love the intensity and time for each project but it seems that by the time you get through the list it will be time to treat the rails again! I also like the attitude of just fix it with what you have. I think you need a team of dozens! What is the plan for below the water line? Have you checked the bilge? Having owned it since 2008 it seems crazy that there are parts you have not checked yet! I enjoy seeing the progress in each video. Looking forward to more.

This is a fantastic project and you are doing great work! I suppose that the biggest challenge will ultimately be the hull itself. To make her seaworthy again, it must probably be needed to do substantial work in drydock at some point? And just a thought: As this is all about preserving history, have you ever thought about re-christening the ship back to her original name, "Wappen von Hamburg"? After all, "Aurora" apparently is a pretty recent name for her with no particular history to it.

I dont know how the electrical is routed on this ship if it comes off the gen sets of the ship or battery banks but are you running all new wiring from the gensets to the galley or tying into the old wiring? The plumbing alone would be a night mare I guess that is routed from bellow deck from fresh water tanks and the sewer tanks . Are you going to try and save some of the plumbing and wiring of the ship? Or you going to replace all of it ? This restoration would be over whelming to say the least. I dont know how you scrape up the millions to restore it. You have my respect

9:43 Now that you know what the miscalculations of the designers lead to, you can find a technical solution for periodic access to the ship's hull for inspection and repair. You need to think about how to install kitchen equipment with the ability to look behind it and perform a test for the thickness of the metal of the ship's hull. Perhaps along the side you just need to make a passage and do not put anything there.
