I sorely miss her constant on air championing of the Broadway theater. For folks like me who grew up not going to NYC, her show brought Broadway to me and I will forever be grateful to Rosie. I love that she got to live out her dream in this and Fiddler years later. Thank you Spiderwoman for posting!

@gregorykeithmorris3970 I disagree. I think Rosie made it seem like The Cat was a grumpy old cat who could silly with no expressions. I saw especially at the end of Oh The Thinks you Can Think with that pose she did. She's kinda like the original 1980s Chuck E Cheese now that I think about it. And also she didn't even have the right range for the songs.
@music_vampp4 ай бұрын
@@Nerdy_Chuck_E I agree with this!! Also, it’s kind of obvious with this show closing on Broadway why they’d cast her. She constantly promoted Seussical on her show. It’s a shame that they were casting celebrities who lacked ability for the character, especially Cat in the Hat!!

I have a soft spot for this show... I think it's so charming and fun. Rosie was a perfect fit for this role... what an incredibly energetic performance. The Weisslers sure do know how to stunt cast! As always, this peek into your collection is gratefully appreciated.
@auroraspiderwoman58863 жыл бұрын
You're entirely welcome, and glad you enjoyed. "Seussical" was a thoroughly professional effort, and Ahrens and Flaherty do quality work. Not sure there was ever a way to make the concept of this show fully work, but it did not deserve the complete dismissals it received in some quarters.
@Dexcab3 жыл бұрын
@@auroraspiderwoman5886 Agreed! The score is incredibly underrated, and there are many clever lyrics. The style is a format I've always enjoyed... the delicate balance of recognizing and enjoying the actors, but also having to look beyond them to let your imagination take over. Unfortunately, that's not something many critics are able to do, resulting in unfair dismissals. As evidenced here, this must have been an absolute marathon of a performance to physically undertake every night. It deserved a better reception!

If this opened with Rosie and the intimacy of the final script, I do think it could have taken a tony or original Boston cat
