Please help me. Was the dog in the luggage scripted...or a real "gag", improv. Either way, it was hilarious! But if it was a gag played on the actors, so much more so!!

@danzalisnock91285 жыл бұрын
@@kellarw1 I'm 99% certain it was scripted since that attendant had the soft luggage bag rather than the hard exterior travel cases that all the other ones had. I think the dog yelping was actually a recording also cuz he was throwing the bag around too lol. Also, as an actor he brilliantly sells opening the bag and convincing the audience that there is indeed a dog inside the bag, but also does it in such a fashion where we never actually see a dog. Ya gotta credit whoever had the creative sense to come up with that gag and incorporate it so wonderfully and with perfect timing. The fact that you werent sure and I'm not even truly 100% certain speaks volumes to how well-layered these performances can be with good writing, good energy, and good performers to portray the story.

I always thought she would make a great Elphaba and lady in the lake but when I asked her about playing those parts she said she don't do replacements which is funny because her bway debut was a replacement role.
@remyfacade4 жыл бұрын
@Adam Efimoff you take a job so you can pay your bills, you take a job to contribute to your family and society. You take a job because someone quit or got fired which is why the job would be available. Broadway legends have taken over roles. Sheri is not a legend or at that level to have that perspective.
@jasonhays8644 Жыл бұрын
Really? She said that? What a weird thing to say. Actual legends do replacements. Angela Lansbury did it for King and I in the 70s. Bernadette has done it several times - A Little Night Music, Hello, Dolly! I love SRS, but how silly.

Not a great song, in my opinion; but a cute production number, and Sherie Rene Scott just shines!
@JoshTheTheatreKid6 жыл бұрын
I love this number, but I feel this song is an example of lazy lyrical rhyming.
@owenlock23726 жыл бұрын
I think the lyrics perfectly reflect the ditziness and naivete of the character which is of course (SPOILER ALERT!) her ruse to mislead everyone into thinking she's an heiress (a la Paris Hilton et al). I think it could have gone even further by making her French pronounciation even more atrocious.
@MikeA152066 жыл бұрын
It's tongue in cheek, not lazy. It's called farce.
@dellapj6 жыл бұрын
The lyrics are low-key brilliant.
@michaelwilliamybarra24095 жыл бұрын
@@dellapj I find myself liking David Yazbeck's work a lot, ever since hearing Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown(Which Sherie also stared in!), The Band's Visit(which I'm glad he FINALLY won a Tony for), and Tootsie(Though I'll need more time for that score to grow on me, but it'll get there I'm sure), but I think this score has a bunch of hits and missus in both the style and composition of the score, and the selling bite and wit with compelling humanity in the lyrics. I'm still trying to listen to all of it(and watch this performance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWmkfJuhn7KXe7s which I swear is the EXACT SAME performance this video is from, at a different angle) like this score fine(it's not as great to me as the above mentioned, but it's not bad either and it has it's moments (I like this song and "All About Ruprecht", but I'm not really getting into the placid chords and phony Jamaican rapping "Great Big Stuff), but seeing how many reviewers are giving divided viewpoints on wether this score is good or bad has me convinced that this score is the musical score equivalent to Nicolas Cage's acting career!! They both have divided admirers and detractors, yet still manage to stay afloat. Basically, no matter how much love or hate this score gets, it still managed to keep getting played for 626 performances on Broadway! So yeah, this score isn't shaping up to be my complete favorite by David Yazbeck, but I still enjoy this guy's work overall, and I can't wait to hear his score for The Princess Bride musical that Disney Theatricals is working on!!! www.playbill.com/article/the-princess-bride-musical-in-the-works-from-david-yazbek-rick-elice-and-bob-martin

I would not say "lazy". I think lacking in talent is more accurate.

I decided to be the 2nd dislike because her singing was great but her acting and dancing was so cringy and tight and it didn't seem like she really wanted to be there like the character obviously does. I AM A MAN...and I could have done this song better!!!!
@TheCountess0015 жыл бұрын
Uriah Gillespie Oh please! The character is supposed to be ditsy and overwhelmed. She’s supposed to charm you with her naïveté and seeming “stupidity.” Sherie Rene’s performance is actually very good!
@pandarus025 жыл бұрын
She’s a con woman
@nancynaur59883 жыл бұрын
Gotta say I agree with Lewis entirely, and would just like to add that Sherie’s most redeeming qualities as a performer are her facilities with sarcasm and aloofness. I think perhaps that’s what you’re picking up on. I would say that these are deliberate choices on SRS’s part, and given that the character is meant to be conwoman who’s playing at being ditzy and a little unaccustomed to the culture of where she is, I think the choices work quite well. She isn’t leading with being simply unintelligent, that would be to one-dimensional. This is like a small wink and nudge to the audience. Superbly performed, actually. Small sidenote: I doubt you could have performed it better, eek.
