Spent my entire life fishing this river with my dad. Caught some nice fish and ate lunch on this river very often over the years.

This is an absolute gem of a location, even if you never wet a line. Mountains, rivers, waterfalls, swimming holes, lakes, trails, fantastic views, and wonderful people! We go there for several days every year, even though I'm a hopeless fly fisherman. This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places on earth. Don't miss it!

Tom is a true master angler. His knowledge and skills are only exceeded by his love of the sport. Newbie or seasoned veteran we can all learn so much from him. He opens our eyes, minds, and soul to new perspectives. Tom has spent many years building his experience and love of fishing. That is not how many seasons with up to twenty sessions with a few hours on the water. Actual years of time on the water over many seasons. He is deservedly one the most respected people in our craft.

I'm so lucky to have grown up in the Albany area. Only ~2hrs from the Ausable, and many other rivers and lakes around it. Also only 1.5-2hrs from some of the best Catskill region rivers and streams as well.

It’s wild that every time I see a video and think ‘cool, they are fishing near me in Michigan’ I click the video and find out it’s another location with the same name. This one, Camp Grayling, honestly feels like every video, and likely the reason I subbed to the channel years ago. Not a complaint, just an observation, and maybe a dumb suggestion (not sure we need more people) - Michigan offers a lot of this same stuff, and is the birth place to many things - Trout Unlimited, Adams fly, etc Any way, keep up the ‘work’ 👍👊🇺🇸🤘

Thanks for your input. We have been trying to work with Michigan Tourism (Pure Michigan) to bring us down to shoot some shows but we never seem to have success. Would love to do a show on Ausable hatches, Manistee steelhead and some evening brown trout fishing during the hex hatch. Maybe 2023 we will be successful! cheers

I thought the same. I just spent a full day on the Michigan Au Sable and had a great day. Both dry and nymphing were productive. Great river.

@@newflyfisher I live between and within 10-15 minutes of the Manistee and Boardman River (the river that runs through Kingsley MI where the Adams fly was invented) and about 40 minutes from the AuSable River in Grayling Michigan. Point being, there is ample opportunity for content with in a short distance, which I suspect you know and have researched, so I guess I’m just bragging at this point….oh well good luck with Pure Michigan, and thanks for the content 👍👊🇺🇸🤘
