AusCamping - Arctic Campers Frost 13

While we were in Melbourne, we dropped in to see Arctic Campers and their new Frost 13. Something new, something different and definitely something to keep an eye on if you’re shopping for a new camper.
This looks like a company that really could shake up the caravan industry. With a firm eye on quality, innovation and customer service, their new designs are already paving the way of their intent.

Thanks Hannah, we like our camping to be all fun, not all work, so when we find tips, tricks or products that fit our goals then we enjoy sharing our experience with others. There’s a story behind the hat which we might share one day, but it became my camping hat and after wearing it in our first few videos, it’s become a bit of a video trademark so we can’t do a video without it now 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Very impressive. One thing I would like to see is the basin in the ensuite relocated to the bench top in the entry cupboard as this would give a bit more room in the ensuite & allow you to do dishes or make a cuppa inside if the weather isn't the best. Can't fault the quality though

Good video, wondering what your thoughts are on the rear bed slide in the Frost 13 compared to the side bed slide on your StarVision. I like the kitchen setup on the side slide but not sure if I like squeezing around the bed to get in/out of bed & get to cupboards. Does that bother you? Cheers

We like the walk around bed on our CX3, but both vans have pros and cons that will be different for everyone. Arctic also have a van with the side fold out like our CX3.

Is there any under bed storage in the 15. Also what is the little display at the end of bed. Cheers

There is some storage under the bed but best to contact Arctic directly for the full details as the 15 we looked at was the first prototype so things may be different now. The small display on the cupboard beside the end of the bed was the display panel for the PM400 power management system. It displays all the battery, water tank, power usage information.

Looks good if only you could get down the sides of the bed (best thing about the CX3)

Totally agree, at our age we also like the walk around better than climbing across the bed, but everyone camps differently, Anett and I are very aware of that so we keep an open mind. The good news is that we had the opportunity to chat with the owner and the national sales manager and they already have plans for other designs, including walk around beds. It’s a fairly new company but the owner comes from a mechanical engineering background and the National sales manager comes from 20 years caravan industry experience (building/designing). We will certainly be keeping an eye on their upcoming products.

What is the price on both of them?

Best to give them a call to confirm and get full details but off the top of my head, $51K and $58K includes everything except for your gas bottles (even includes dealer delivery and on road costs)

I could be wrong but it appears that you wouldn't be able to use the RHS fold down table extension on the kitchen if you were using the annex. If so, that's a turn off

We didn’t see the annex setup but I did question how it worked with the kitchen and was advised that there is a slot in the annex wall to go around the extension.

Yes, the chassis and shell are and the final fit out is completed in Australia. It’s definitely one of the best quality imports we have seen though.

@@AusCamping ok thanks, looking for Australian made. The Chinese imports are too expensive and look too much like the other chinese made imported brands and models.

@@christurner68 fair enough if you'd prefer Australian Made but I think you'll find comparable Aussie made vans to be a lot more expensive. When I spoke to the guys at Arctic Campers, they were planning to offer Australian made options as well. Don't know if they have options available already but probably worth giving them a call and asking.
