When I first heard it gave me chills...then I saw the live in Poland it took the emotion to the next level.

2:07 If I remember it correct that document says 100 polish civilians should become executed for every german soldier. A effective but sadistic way of turning the Poles against the resistance. That german officer handing over the document are the swedish actor Peter Stormare, a huge Sabaton fan. Great reaction. Can you please reacto to Sabaton - The Lion From The North next time?

There are 3 versions to choose from - lyric, original and live. Prefer the live version with Apocyptica

The SS officer is played by our Hollywood export Peter Stormare. He was very enthusiastic for the role as he's also a big history buff.

Problem is that popular culture has made Poland out to be a joke politically and militarily, but frankly they fought off the Russians, had a functional democracy in the 1930's, and held the line for a month against a combined Nazi and Soviet invasion. The Poles are many things, but they have a heart of iron. Yarnhub has a good history video about the first battle of WWII, when Polish postmen in Danzig held off the SS for 18 hours in the post office. Heroes all of them.

Im swedish and remember some years ago when forrestfires raged all over Sweden and our own firefighters had serious problems. They didnt have the capacity to fight it everywhere by themself but Poland came to our help, they were the first to offer help, followed by Norway and Finland ofcourse. Poland have since then a special place in the heart of many swedes. 🔥

I think that the Australians, although they probably don't realize it and it's not in their tradition, have a part in this history. When the Warsaw Uprising broke out, the only possibility of any support from the Western Allies was air drops conducted from Allied bases in southern Italy. Of course, the Poles from the Polish Air Force in the West took off. In addition, the British sent pilots from the Royal Australian Air Force and Afrikaners from the South African Air Force. Everyone describes that they were almost as determined as the Polish crews. One description tells of an RAAF plane that was completely on fire and the crew, instead of parachuting, kept throwing out containers of supplies until they crashed. In any case, the entire crews of the RAAF and SAAF died. In total, about 350 people. Their graves are still in two Commonwealth cemeteries in Poland. Tidy and well-maintained. In any case, we in Poland also know from Tobruk that if we have to march to war, it's good to have an Aussie at our side.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing this piece of history. I had no idea that the Royal Australian Air Force was involved in the Warsaw Uprising(which is sad being an Australian). It's incredible to learn about their bravery and dedication, even in such dire circumstances. The fact that they continued their mission despite being on fire is both heartbreaking and inspiring. It's fascinating how our histories intersect in unexpected ways. I have a lot of respect for those courageous crews and appreciate you bringing this to my attention. Thanks again for sharing!

The tragic thing about the uprising is that the Allies, especially the Western Allies (UK, USA, Commonwealth etc), were able to and wanted to help the Warsaw resistance. The Soviet Union, however, refused to let Western Allied planes fly into their airspace, meaning that supplies being dropped to the resistance was less than what could have been sent.

that is very sad indeed, thank you for your insight

Great reaction as usual, If you watch the Sabaton history channel episode for any song they will tell you why they put a odd scene in the video, but basically, they had an old lady (born in Poland, lived in sweden, was married to a Swedish man) tell them about people meeting a love interest during the occupation, and that such things became important glints of light in the darkness

thankyou for explaining that for me
