Australian teenager Bianca Jones has passed away in hospital as a result of suspected methanol poisoning in Laos.
Her family confirmed her passing in a statement a short time ago.

Just so everyone knows, you can't get accidentally poisoned this way - it's quite deliberate. They ordered cocktails, but the barman made a mocktail instead (no alcohol, much cheaper for him), and then he poured in methylated spirits from the hardware store. The barman makes extra profit, but a few hours later the customer starts dying. It's an ongoing issue in certain Asian countries. Much safer to drink packaged alcohol, or drink in places that the locals go to.

@@tarik6990Sometimes, to cut costs, alcoholic drinks are illegally made with methanol instead of ethanol (or a methanol/ethanol mixture, which is still dangerous)

Meanwhile, their beautiful scenery is dying due to pollution. Well, I like the golf and muay Thai training, but the red district light and everything is all wrong. Therefore, Malaysia considers how robust its passport is despite its economic growth, which is starting to be negative. That is why some developing countries have visa-free for almost every country, including Australian people entering Thailand. Laos is easy, but you must know that the government is unstable.
