Hey @Aussie_Drongo, Purple Here (or LordHierarchArtanis), it was a fun game. one of the reasons why i did what i did in this game was due to prior games where my king got sniped or I was on full turtle mode grabbing stone and making my king surrounded by cannon towers before moving out (which after watching the video i am kicking myself for since you didn't even have military production at 16 mins). I also didn't know it was you since this was the one game i didn't check the leaderboard while loading in, but i did have my suspicions due to how fast u were typing. if you were wondering why pink was in my base before u then it was because i almost sniped his monarch and he retaliated very harshly, but then he likely spotted ur near 200 pop army and likely decided u were the bigger threat and i was telling the truth, which was slightly correct. TBH i was more scared of Japan than i was of u (even if i didn't know it was you in the zhu shi) since i saw in a previous game crackedy pretty much get almost pushed in by a 300 pop Japan when he was english with 400 pop. My reasoning was simple after Japan was fighting u: go full gremlin and grab as many resources off the map for an eventual wonder and potential snipe. You could see my enclaves across most of the map. The lulls between the japanese attack on your base was him trying to root out my infestations that were gobbling up his resources and doing a push into my base that destroyed my 3 landmarks. I probably looked so weak to him that he didn't even bother making a stone wall surrounding the wonder. As for your push onto my wonder? well i didn't know you were struggling with lag, but i did wonder why you were targeting some non- essential locations. i did know for a fact that I could hold the wonder and my last landmark as I had done it before when I faced a 400 pop Ottoman when i was only 200 population with 40 eco units and won. a lot of your granery farms end up not being worked after you boom. I think you send vills to build house or age up and then send them somewhere else, idk. Like minute 27 you went from 40 or so on food to 16 and said where's my food.

If only drongo send some scouts around the map. Couldve killed the purple vills in the north to shut down his eco. Plus you only attacked from one sidr instead sending in some rams from different sides to distract him

I love that you can hear the echoes of bombards from across the map, it lets you know when people are fighting in the end game and it's such cool sound design.

People should get points according to their placement, I never understood why only the winner gets something. It would also encourage people to stay in the games for longer and fight tooth and nail instead of admitting defeat early on.

You mentioned purple should be low on resources after building a wonder, but you never checked if he had villagers in the top of the map collecting……you let him continue to collect

I don't understand why Drongo doesn't trade or take scared sites. He just keeps using workers to mine gold when there is no point. After 58:00 when he literally defeated Pink and had 15 minutes to set up trade with middle market, but chooses not to trade. All he needed was 30 to 40 on trade and he could've won by resources and attrition. I feel like every game Drongo lost is because he is actively being over aggressive or does not/ forgot to trade during late game

In this trebs needed. Along with bombards. If trebs there the bombards aim to units. Trebs for destroyinf the towers. Then why not research either imperial guard plus the yuan riders or at least the roar of dragon tech so you have the fire lance for your horsemen and spearsmen in order to destroy those defenses. I see none of the rams

honestly i would ignore the wonder the first 5 minutes and lure out his army with sacred sites and just put maybe 20 spearmen on there. Or try to disrupt his eco with horsemen raids. drongos eco was also very sad. He needed to move half his lumbermen onto farms

Love to see Australia's quality internet connection to AoE4's quality servers this game. Pink's push was a bit of a drain on resources. I'm surprised you went for purple when you saw pink turn his attention towards you.

Drongo you need to get on the map more and mine out stone and gold earlier instead of going 60 vills on wood after youve transitioned to farm boom. Also in that last fight with purple i think you should have slow pushed in waves after remaxing each time and also looked for his eco to kill it

@Aussie_Drongo Excellent game, really enjoyed it. Would it have made a difference if you collected relics when you killed people. I think the gold given by the relics till the end of the game, could have made a difference. Also, is it really a good idea to spawn more farms, if the existing farms are not getting worked on. I probably is a trade off between the time it takes to moke the vills to the existing farms to creating new farms where the vills are currently located?

Durango i think you don't respect enough who you playing. You have enough for bombard towers and keeps. Early towers and keeps keep you safe while your raiding. Pink backstab you which was smart. But he should have finished you as much as possible and then wonder. Or you had towers and a keep you would have been good to get all your army back in time. And purple used that time to build and snipe pink. And pink should not have went wonder. Pink had no walls or towers. It's like when you build a dock on water, you know eventually it is going to get attack. And i don't know why the meta is not build a dock and tower, if not build a dock and tower both sides. As you grow dock tower. With a tower on each dock bombarded your fleet is safe because you can hide under it with your fleet.
