Glen, this is an excellent tip for training the lead arm. Your’s is the first that I have come across suggesting this exercise. I will incorporate this exercise into my practice.👍🇨🇦👨‍🦳

I recently discovered this about a week ago on accident. I managed to get to a 5hdcp with a right arm dominant, casting swing (basically saved by athleticism and hand eye coordination). Started feeling like the left arm was leading the show and the right hand was just along for the ride - incredible results and very different ball flight - went from a weak, slappy fade to a strong, piercing draw. Game changer for sure.

Im a right handed golfer, have been playing for nearly 2 years with my dominant arm being my lead arm, I've recently switched to feeling like my trail arm is more dominant and its totally changed my game, my putting has got better at the same time, but I've gone from mid 90s to low 80s in a couple of months.

Thank you for your comments @deadgum11. It sounds like your lead arm has been doing its job but your trail hasn’t been. Golf is a 2-sided game. Great to hear that you’ve found something to help you play better golf!

@@AussieGolfPros yeah I'd agree with that, until recently my trail arm has just been along for the ride with whatever my lead arm was doing, switching the feeling has definitely helped.

I have watch 100s of videos and none of them address this issue which in my opinion right hand dominance is the number one issue for weekend golfers. Many problems are fixed if they would take this advise you show here, great job !

Excellent explanation and demonstration on the role of the lead arm in the golf swing Glen! I play golf right handed, so I have to guard against my right hand overpowering my left. As your demonstration showed, this usually leads to a fat shot. I have tried to eliminate this challenge by having equal pressure in both hands when gripping the club. This, I try to maintain throughout the golf swing. So far, so good! Good Job Glen! I always find something useful in viewing your videos.

Even bodybuilders that are really concerned with symmetry still have a dominant arm that is stronger than the other one. It's got to do with the neurology of it and the fact that getting each side symmetrical is essential impossible. The dominant side is always bigger

Easy. Use your opposite hand/arm to sweep, shovel etc. Cinderella man was a great movie 😉

Thanks Glen. This is a drill which I’m sure will help me a lot. Wish I had practiced with it before playing Carnoustie, Prestwick, and the Belfry 😂. Oh well, hopefully it helps for St George’s and Princes next week 🤞

@@AussieGolfPros I have loved every course so far. Had calm conditions at Carnoustie, but wind was really blowing at prestwick. Prestwick was great, would love to play again with the benefit of hindsight. The brabazon course at the belfry I favoured over pga national, and was a course I could happily play over and over again. Incredibly challenging, but a pleasure to play.
