If you guys are travelling north to Terengganu, don’t miss visiting Terrapuri Heritage Village in Penarik. You’ll love it! Can even stay there though a bit pricy. Run by my friend. Don’t miss the Museum in Kuala Terengganu also. Worth visiting!

Tin mining industry gave birth to this Sungai Lembing town or vice versa. Remnants of a glorious bygone era. The houses must be hundreds of years old with patchwork done on a rag tag manner to keep it standing. The Cave is a great discovery. First time seeing it through your lenses as a senior Malaysian. Thanks for this great video. You guys almost walked into a Film Set while shooting was in progress. The fact they chose this small forgotten bygone era town as a setting indicates the impact it still has. BTW, I did watch a Bollywood shooting of "Don" movie starring Sharukh Khan in a back lane of Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur about 7.30 p.m. FYI, a lot of international movies are shot in Malaysia.

Shooting was in progress 😲 we couldn’t believe it🤩 we had to be quiet between takes. I think Malaysia is a great place to make movies, because there are so many amazing different types of places, like Sungai Lembing, with historic buildings and amazing mountains, rivers and caves, you could make just about any kind of movie in Malaysia.

Tin mining is one of Malaysia's oldest and most successful industries. In the 1600s, the industry began to flourish in the states of Kedah, Perak and Selangor. During the heyday of tin mining in the mid-19th century, Perak was one of the most active areas. There was increasing demand for tin from the Chinese and Europeans, and extensive and rich tin deposits were discovered in Perak and Selangor. With the arrival of labor and the influx of capital from China, the tin industry expanded rapidly and became the largest tin industry in the world. More than 3,000 Chinese come to work in the mines each year.

Wow! You really know your history! That explains why there is a Chinese village there, with such old, beautiful, interesting buildings. It’s such a beautiful place, with such interesting features, we were surprised it wasn’t full of tourists.

Up to the 1980s Sungai Lembing used to be a thriving town when tin was mined by British owned Pahang Consolidated Co. Ltd. Now it's a sleepy laid back sort of town.
