The worst part of those "simple" plumbing repairs are access to the work area and having all the right parts, the first time. LOL!!

It was a task in its self to fit under there, and yes we didn't have the right parts and tools so had to go back into Home Depot to get them.

For all the times we have stayed at Excalibur, we have never been to their buffet even though I am a big buffet fan. That's great you got comped for the buffet, they are pretty expensive nowadays. Gone are the days of the roadside billboards calling out for buffet dinners for $5.99. Plumbing is never fun. I like the PEX stuff compared to older copper piping, but bending the PEX to get it to fit right is a pain, it has a mind of it's own. I'll have to check out your friends place once I get settled in Kingman, AZ.

It really feels like there is not a lot of buffets left anymore in Las Vegas and a lot of them also don't operate dinner anymore. You're not wrong about the PEX being tough to bend into place, took Dylan ages to get it to line up correctly. You will absolutely love The Spot and the overall good vibes there, they have absolutely wonderful staff and the food is to die for! 😍

The best steak restaurant in all of Las Vegas and within 1,000 miles is in the now shittiest, most rundown hotel in all of Vegas…Circus Circus. It’s simply called “The Steakhouse,” and it’s been there for decades. Not cheap, like everything that’s truly great in the city, but worth every penny. Do a YT search on it.

When we lived in Vegas the buffet at Excalibur was infamously bad - they even messed up breakfast - but that was back when it the Round Table Buffet. Most reviews seem to suggest there has been a major improvement. When we left in 2012 I would only eat at Caesars, Wicked Spoon, or Wynn - plus off-strip buffets.

We've heard that some buffets can be hit or miss, but our experience at Excalibur was quite good. We haven't tried the buffet at Caesars yet, but it's definitely on our list. LOL!! Strand of hot cheese stretching out below is kinda what an omelet does. Kinda sweet but kinda sour is perfect cherry pie. Even if this one does look pretty sad. Get the same design faucet or you may have to redrill some holes.

I haven’t tried the Excalibur buffet in 20+ years. Many of the Vegas buffets that were good in the 90’s and early 2000’s fell off, however the buffet at Caesars Palace is still one of the best ones and has stood the test of the time.

It is such a shame there is no longer more buffets operating in Las Vegas, they were iconic. We are still yet to visit the Caesars Palace's buffet, we hope to visit that buffet one day soon, it looks well worth the visit 😋 Thank you for leaving a lovely comment

Yep! Cherry pie. It’s way too sour and bitter. You’re better off with blueberry pie. I don’t think I’ve ever had a cherry pie that I actually liked, although the concept is so tempting.

@@TheRoadBechAndCalls There are a hundred types of pies. Of course, the expression is “As American as Apple Pie,” so there’s your starting point. For apple pie, Dutch Crumble Apple Pie is my favorite. The crust is different. But like you look at the popularity of peach pie, except I ain’t a peaches fan. Enjoy. Take my piece. I don’t really want it. If you don’t like the filling, it’s not going to miraculously get tastier in a pie!

Peach pie is my favorite. I’m just not a fan of the berry pies. I love berries, but for some reason, don’t like any berry pie.
