@@sherman1476 When the rules were explained, he said it was ok to use momentum. So not only is she smarter than Austen, she had better endurance as it didn't appear that Lauren didn't take any breaks and destroyed Austen. Of course you will build muscle, but endurance is a much more important skill than bust speed. You don't want people tiring out after a few meters. That is who they are looking to recruit as they stand the best chance of getting through the physical requirements of the job.

Unfortunately, you have to do it around 2 minutes lol which is very fast. And it’s also not unfortunate at the same time lol because that’s what makes Marines, challenges ;)
@KidoKoin
@KidoKoin 3 жыл бұрын
@@Arora4926 2:50 is far from "around 2 minutes". And it is not very fast - for a dedicated male runner. It corresponds with 6:18 mile run - aerobic ability-wise. For the men and especially women of their built and weight, though, it is fairly respectable. For comparison: in French Foreign Legion fitness test corresponding time on 2,400 meters run would be around 9:50, and it scores 16 out of 20 - not quite enough for the highest level.

Even though they say "every Marine is a rifleman" not every Marine is infantry. For the non infantry Marines, depending on their MOS, they usually work a 9 to 5 job and can have consistent time for the gym. Honestly, the biggest dudes I saw were in the Airforce. As an infantry Marine though, it was near impossible to get big, with a constant deployment rotation (prior to 2009), always in the field when stateside, at the range, running and hiking, hardly anytime for the gym, only on some weekends. But usually drinking takes priority over gym as a YOUNG infantryman on the weekends.
