I thought, since I run 5ks and 10ks for competition AND occasionally for fun, "Oh, I can do this easy. 800 meters, 400 meters, that's light work." Then I realized you have a minute rest before you have to run another 400 meters WITH a gas mask on (after the 800, and AFTER doing all of Phase 1). Now I kind of want to try this Physical Fitness test just to see what I'd score, as a long distance runner I'd be taking too long to pull those sleds, but I feel like I could do good at the other stuff.

That’s oddly coincidental. I’m going into army to go 75th ranger regiment as well. Power to you bro work hard and it will come with sacrifice. I’m not even in yet and I’ve sacrificed a lot. It takes hard work, fighting through fatigue, sometimes sleepless nights, painfully sore from training, and mental toughness. It won’t be easy but you got it bro just don’t give up, lay low, and push on.
@colbymccalip83543 жыл бұрын
Also don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t do shit. You can do whatever you set your mind to with heart and determination. I didn’t think I could lose 40lbs in 2 1/2 months but through two a days for 5 days a week, runs, rucks, and CrossFit I accomplished that. My point is things that seem impossible aren’t impossible. You just have to have the drive to accomplish what you’re after.

The absolute worst thing I remember from Army boot camp (20 years ago...yikes) was donning our gas masks and having to run uphill on loose gravel in the humidity and heat of southern Missouri and trying to see the rope to swing across the pit to complete the PECS course. (Physical Endurance Course) It was the end of nearly 2 hours going through the entire thing so you're already nearly spent. Not sure if the masks were an actual part or just something my drill sergeants thought up but the masks really cut down how much air you can suck into your lungs that are already burning.

I weigh 135 so I can do 15 pull ups in one go. I think it gets harder the larger of a person you are, like someone with the same fitness level as me but taller and 50 pounds heavier could probably only knock out 10 at once. Another reason I've come to this conclusion is because I am having a harder time the more weight I gain, I could do 20 pull ups when I was 125 but I have gained 10 pounds of muscle and cant do as many even though the muscle is getting stronger. I think all the weight of the muscles I'm not using like my legs and core are adding up more than the muscles I use for pull ups are
