Being a lover of Elvis, I cannot stand watching actors try to portray him, because no one compares. But, Austin does something different here, it’s obvious how his entire heart and soul was in this. He truly did The King justice. I’m blown away.

Couldn't agree more about Austin, but the movie definitely didn't do Elvis justice. They left too much out & added too much bs that never even happened/ is not even close to how it happened. They grabbed unimportant moments or made-up moments instead of working with the outstanding ones, like how sickly generous Elvis was, the reason why the colonel took 50% to himself was because Elvis' donations were making All of them bankrupt. Elvis, being born extremely poor, couldnt stand knowing there are poor people. He even bought a cadillac for an 80 year-old lady who was randomly window-shopping whilst he was checking out the newest model to add to his collection. Or his love for children, him signing the papers for 90% of his income from the Aloha from Hawaii concert going to children's hospitals and cancer centers. They never even mentioned that being the first ever via satellite concert in the world that was said to be impossible to make at first but Elvis kept pushing. Cilla wasn't closely as good to him as portrayed in the movie either. And so on and so forth. The movie could forever be argued but we will just accept it as it is. All in all, its great but I wish it'd have capture reality more.

The Unchained Melody cover he sang as an audition was actually after a nightmare (the nightmare he talks about) where his mother is dying again, that grief he used to sing for his mother and also later on he found out that his mother and Elvis's mother, they both died when both Elvis and Austin were 23 years old... That was the first thing that connected him with Elvis when he went to Graceland, according an interview between Austin and Jimmy Fallon... Greetings!

I noticed in interview on yt, Austin has the high cheekbones elvis had when he smiled. This helps Austin look like elvis in makeup. Also elvis was the first recording star to use eye makeup on stage. He felt it was necessary. So they used it on Austin. Elvis had blue eyes as well.. Later they used prosthetics on Austin's face to fill him out after 1970 rather having him gain weight. What Baz did was so effective but Austins personality and acting ability was phenomenal. He watched all the films and he did what elvis did in concert. Thats why Priscilla could not tell at times whether she was seeing elvis or Austin performing because they included actual elvis video a lot.

This film is a work of art as a film. Austin and Tom give a phenomenal performance. All the actors dancers and singers are fabulous. The roots of rock, the Blues, Elvis musical influence, the African American artists and people are respectfully and dutifully depicted. The political tone is well balanced within the context. After years of streaming platforms’ movies/series with a medium quality on the whole and action movies with OTT special effects this film is so refreshing. I will be able to see this film 3 times giving space in between viewing, not to spoil the magic.
