I didn’t understand a lot of that. All I know about music is I love the rhythm and the lyrics but Paul has a talent of making everything sound so interesting. What a remarkable man, singer, songwriter, musician.

In the early 70s I was around 11 and The Graduate was having its first TV broadcast. I was banished to my room early that night because it was such a “dirty movie”. So from the top of the steps I listened closely for the “dirty” parts. Instead....I heard this music. This guy has been my idol ever since.

What he says at the end about always sounding a bit flat even though he hears it to be correct might have to with losing perfect pitch with age. Rick Beato discusses this problem musicians seem to have as they age. He thinks he's 'in tune' as he has done his whole life, only now he isn't. It seems consistent with what he's experiencing. Someone tell him.

@mikron I think Paul has always sung slightly flat. His vocal clarity has diminished with age and he has a slight rasp now. However I have always felt his singing was slightly flat, to the point that it was practically his “style”.

Wrong Paul, in singer songrwitter, actually rappers became the next popular thing. Its music relies alot more on beats and repetiveness, than song structure, so I guess the musical form is what suffered a greater blow.

Hmmm ? seems to have a somewhat limited vocabulary, for an otherwise apparently bright wordsmith ? Interesting, 'creative person' mind wise ?

Paul, I heard you ask people to build you guitars and so they do and in return you never pay as agreed? Not cool at all. These people are not wealthy as you are and put a lot of hard work into it. You think the material and labor is free?

Paul Simon is well known for opening his wallet and paying top dollar for great musicians and top of the line instruments, not to mention doing entire tours where the money goes to charity. I think you’re passing along some bad info. Gotta wonder where that’s coming from.
