Austin Rajrattan had a lovable personality and a melodious voice. A number of times, he was invited as a lead singer on our TV show. Austin composed and sang the religious Gazals of Rev. Lachhman Dass Naz. He was also a singer and composer of more than two dozen secular gazals and Geets.
His style of singing resembled that of Ghulam Ali and Jagjit Singh, yet he never copied or sang their Gazals. He sang and composed Shiv Batalvi's compositions in his own unique way. He was fondly endeared all over India and the West. The other trait of his singing is his knowledge of Indian classical music which placed him among the other great gazal composers and Punjabi singers.
Despite being immensely talented he, unfortunately, could not get exposure in the Indian film industry while living in Canada. A noble soul, such as a singer musician and composer, will always be missed. Austin is fondly remembered by his family, friends, and fans worldwide. We are presenting one of his compositions with the hope that our viewers will like it.
