Soo many Maestros, it’s good that some reached 40yrs old! I wasn’t all that keen on them years ago, but I think that’s because I loved and preferred the quirkiness of the Maxi, Allegro, and Princesses, Austin Rovers serious attempt at being Mainstream and keeping up trend with the Escort and Astra of the time and suprisingly they still didn’t sell as well as we might think. Good to see such a huge turnout, including the vans, I remember them being Diesel mainly, our area British Gas vans were Maestro Diesel vans. Thanks again Rick for sharing the vid.👍

Those two Landcrabs are also interesting. I used to own both Maestro and Landcrab, simultaneously. Unfortunately, my '68 Austin Landcrab, bought as a barn find in Sweden, wasn't the lovely Wolseley variant

Hard to believe the Maestro is the same age as me!! 😂😂 Not sure if you have heard of Retroshite but he is giving away a Yellow Maestro BT Van, the 2001 Y reg maestro there was a prize he was giving away and I entered to be in with a chance to win it. Fantastic to see so many Meastros and Montegos. Can't believe how far some people travelled. Then again, there probably won't be many more shows with that many Meastros! Shame that red one wasn't your old one. Was your old one recovered after being stolen? I haven't heard if it's back on the road since. Hopefully its still being enjoyed. Great video as always!👍

I had one it was a basic model and apart from the headlining failing and the stench of petrol inside the cab it was an okay car but comparing to my dad's mk2 golf it was behind 😢

Ha the Perkins Diesel was a damned sight quieter than the peugote lump they put in the superceding Rover 400.
