A&Z #977 - Randy Santel vs Austin's "Butcher Block" 7lb Steak Challenge w/ Filet Mignon, Porterhouse, and Meatloaf at Austin's Steaks & Saloon in West Omaha, Nebraska!! A few weeks after finishing my 2-month Florida Tour with ‪@KatinaEatsKilos‬, I started a Midwest USA Food Challenge Tour. For event #6, I traveled over to West Omaha, Nebraska so I could attempt and help kick off the new "Butcher Block" 7lb Steak Challenge at Austin's Steaks & Saloon which was so delicious!! I had 1 hour to feast on four different cuts of Nebraska beef steak - a 35oz Porterhouse Steak, a 16oz Filet Mignon, an 18oz New York Strip Steak, and an 18oz Ribeye Steak. That all came with 2 signature Sugar Biscuits plus 1 full pound of homemade meatloaf served with mashed potatoes all topped with tasty brown gravy. For dessert, I got to enjoy a big piece of bread pudding served with vanilla ice cream and I also enjoyed an optional "Austin's Punch" signature cocktail during the challenge. I was trying to win my $170 steak dinner free plus a sweet t-shirt and the first spot on Austin's Wall of Fame. Austin's Steaks & Saloon's "Butcher Block" 7lb Steak Challenge in West Omaha, Nebraska ($170):
- Austin's Steaks & Saloon is located in the Shops of Legacy serving the West Omaha, NE area.
- All their food items are homemade and the different cuts of Nebraska beef are sliced in house.
- For this "Butcher Block" Steak Challenge, there is a 1 hour time limit to finish everything.
- 35oz Porterhouse Steak, 16oz Filet Mignon, 18oz New York Strip Steak, and 18oz Ribeye.
- There is 1lb of homemade meatloaf with mashed potatoes, all topped with tasty brown gravy.

You know what I appreciate most about Randy, it's not just his incredible appetite, but I love his positive energy. He gushes over every restaurant he goes to, and is so nice to the owners and staff, and on top of that he shares it with the world. He basically gives family owned small businesses free advertising. 3:55 T-Bone 🥩 and Porterhouse are the same thing, the only difference between the two is that the filet side of the steak is larger on a Porterhouse than a T-bone steak. A Porterhouse and T-Bone steak are otherwise exactly the same cut of meat which is a combination of NY strip and filet mignon, with Porterhouse just having more of the filet.
