Hi, great tutorial! But when i change the date in the computers time backwards, I was able to reopen the file again. Is there a work around this?

in network environment, setting time or date should be limited to only Administrator. regular user who will use this Access DB should no permission to change the date in Control Panel.

you should create a table for record the date for expire, not just a hard code on the VB. the VB should refer to a date value on the table and you can update or change that date.

yes, different version of Access uses different version of VBA, so the code may be a little bit different.

Hi , I'm using access 2010 , i followed the procedure in the video to add a password to the module, once the database expire. Once I open the switchboard form, the message appears that the database has expired and then I click "ok" afterwards an error message appears as "Run-time error '2046: The command or action "Quit" isn't available now". When I click to debug, it highlights the line: Application.Quit in the VBA code ( once I enter ? Application.Quit in the Immediate Window in the VBA screen results in the message "compiler error , variable not defined"). I went to your website: www.iaccessworld.com/how-to-set-database-expired/ and I saw you had posted an updated VBA code in the procedure. I updated my VBA code. and I test it in my switchboard form. I received a message that the database has expired: "End of free period, Please contact developer", followed by a pop-up dialog box with the message "The command or action 'Quit' isn't available now". After I click the "Ok" button, the database shuts down and it does not reopen. How to fix this problem with the "Quit isn't available now" and once fixed, will the three tries to enter a password work?.
