As a kid, I grew up in India watching Hollywood masterpieces like LOTR, Harry potter (1-3), but right now such movies are made in India. What a proud movement. Telugu film industry is taking risks meanwhile Bollywood is making stale old movies. They do make 1-2 gems, but right now amazing movies are made in south. Be it Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada or Tamil language movies.

Not everything with Purana is old. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalki_Purana The Sanskrit text was likely composed in Bengal during an era when the region was being ruled by the Bengal Sultanate or the Mughal Empire. Wendy Doniger dates it to sometime between 1500 AD and 1700 AD. It has a floruit of 1726 AD based on a manuscript discovered in Dhaka, Bangladesh. So, may be 500-300 years old

Spoiler Alert : My 2 cents on why Prabhas's character (Karna) kind of forgets in the end is because of the shraap given by Parshurama of Amnesia in his last birth so it kinds of sticks on...!!!

I just got out of the theater and yes this movie is fucking Epic! It’s the first Bollywood/Tollywood that I was able to follow the story without getting myself confused which never stopped any others from being good and enjoyable. Only a couple of things brought me out of the movie was the CGI in the prelude which was just a little odd, but once it got to the present the green screen doesn’t bother me. And the other thing that is a really small thing is a couple of the dubstep mixed music didn’t match the rest of the movie that was just a bit odd. Really reminded me of a combo of Dune and Alita battle angel with their worlds. But can’t wait for the continuation of the universe!

This is based on Indian history and Novel Mahabharat... I guess u felt a bit difficult to co-relate the story, if u get a chance get some overview from other resources.. but thanks for the positive reviews... Plz promote good Indian movies. I think before the intermission in the 1st half it was unnecessary & forceful to make a comedy scene & it didn't work for me. In the 2nd half it gets really interesting & the last 40 minutes was absolute stellar. & Those Mahabharat scenes was really great. Hats off to the director for his vision.

The Ashwathamma actor isn't a native Thélugu speaker so he actually did a wonderful job,but overall dialogue delivery was not great. Also, 1 of the cameos ,the guy who Prabhas's character comes across in the desert,is the director for Baahubali & so the dialogue of him saying I'll keep you for 10 yrs this time is a reference to the fact that Baahubali took 5 yrs to film.

Ashwatthama, portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan in Kalki 2898 AD, was outstanding. While I am not a fan of his body of work, I was truly in awe of his performance. However, I believe the de-aged Ashwatthama could have been more effective with Abhishek Bachchan in the role instead of relying on subpar visual effects. Hopefully, this is addressed in future films.

Kalki 2898 AD is the pride of Indian Cinema and Telugu Cinema. One word review: MINDBLOWING. Do not miss it at any cost. 💯💯💯 I hope Kalki surpasses every Indian movie produced so far including RRR and becomes the most successful Indian film. Absolutely mindblowing except some unnecessary cringe masala and cringe comedy with Bhairava in the first half. Kamal Haasan part is pure horror. The way they have imagined landscapes, environments, weapons, vehicles, powers, Mahabharata scenes is truly exceptional and spectacular. My one suggestion to Nag Ashwin is to explore the Complex society and the outside world more in depth because on the surface it looks like everyone is doing well enough even though they are starving for food, water, clean oxygen and they have just stuck some neon signs randomly on Indian alleyways and streets because that's how cyberpunk movies do it. Anyone who says it is merely a copy of Star Wars, Dune, Mad Max, MCU deserve to drink Kali's tears lol. Excited for Kalki 2 more than I ever was for Brahmastra 2. Prabhas and Deepika Padukone are good but Amitabh Bachchan is the MVP. Wow. Disha Patani's part is simply waste. Roxxie could have still been used to show Bhairava the luxuries and abundance of the Complex without that cringe song. Also, unnecessary writing mistakes like superhuman Ashwatthama suddenly not being able to lift Sumathi up should not happen. I wish they would give Shree Krishna better look. No yellow angavastram or armor or jewels or mukut. Just a white cloth and a head band makes him look like a Greek hero. Personally I would have loved to see Shree Krishna blue instead of fair-skinned or dark-skinned because that's how we all grew up watching him in all images. I wish they worked on young Ashwatthama's face better because it is honestly bad, looking like a video game character whenever he spoke with large Disney cartoon eyes. Red Chillies is right there! Deserves to be watched atleast twice. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 PS. For non-Indians and Karna (son of Sun God Surya) fans watching this, Karna was not more powerful than Arjuna. Karna is an antagonist and an adharmi in the Mahabharata who was jealous of Arjuna and committed many evil deeds and suffered for his karma and choosing the wrong side against the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Shree Krishna. Period. But he is not a cheeranjeevi (immortal) like Ashwatthama. How has he reborn or reincarnated remains to be seen. Note that according to some, Karna pushing Arjuna's chariot back is a fake story and Ashwatthama surrendered the mani himself.
