Tough one. Probably balance out to even. Eichel really is on a shit team. I know Im a sabres fan and it's really eichel taking over a game. It's sad actually. Matthews is the better pure scorer no doubt. Matthews would still be a stud without being on a good team anyway. Both are elite players who are even. The eichel mcdavid comparison was dumb as anyone knows mcdavid is in his own category

After watching this you can see how dynamic Matthews can be. I imagine most of his hate comes from Toronto media saying things like “He’s the Michael Jordan of the NHL.” If he were to play for any other team, I imagine more people would like him

From what I remember, I heard lots of criticism about his performance in the playoffs last year and him always being hurt in the regular season. I feel like now he's gained lots of respect from Toronto fans after the dynamic year he has been having.
