Matthews didn't win us that game. Max Domi with the beauty of a flip pass up the ice to Matthews is what won the game. I think Matthews M.M JT or if he was in the lineup Nylander could of likely have finished that breakaway, but Domi is the one who made that breakaway possible. Maximum Domi is easily my first star.

The only thing that worries me is the mantra of this team from coach to players seems to always be we're good even when we're bad, like a 5-1 opening night loss and Keefe is saying I thought the overall game was good and it didn't reflect the score... and now after a 3-2 win everyones ready to throw a party? The mentality should be if we lose 5-1 we deserved it because we're a bunch of bums who need to be better, and after a 3-2 win it should be wow we're lucky to have gotten away with that one, we played well but still need to be better because 1 goal leads are way too close.

From the start I said he could be a Remix-Lemieux, Marner has been a paper weight on Matthews physicality development he doesn't influence attitude, grit or leadership, then he takes away from Matthews playmaking as teams don't respect Marner scoring ability. Matthews become 1 dimensional with Marner.

@@jb1934 gotta be the Ankle + he's never been a self starter for intensity which is showing why he's not a playoff guy being to focused on his stats and contract since that's the only thing that he can influence. He played with Tavares and got paid putting up numbers with Tavares. Deep down Marner has progressed beyond adding 5-10 points vs Nylander who actually plays physical driving to net front goals and winning 1v1 puck battles when he sees a lame duck he's says I'm better than this guy, I'm gunna rush him, and score on my own. Teams would kill for a guy who can do a bit of everything + a legit goalscorer
