I am no rugby league fan but remember watching these highlights with my now departed brother. Andy Gregory and Henderson Gill were unreal in this match. Hanley a superb steward. I even remember when Mike G died thinking that was that fellow who scored v Aussies 20 years ago and what a leader he was.

What an early morning that was. I've still got the VHS tape. I love Malcolm Reilly's reply about what got us through. "Bulldog spirit mate. There's nothing more dangerous than an Englishman with his back to the wall".

What a performance against a team with wally and sterlo at halfback! I think beating aus at rugby league is the biggest challenge in world team sport. Just hope we can do it over a 3 test series one day. God rest Mike Gregory and Roy Powell- you made your mark.

Love that Gill try. Legendary. Fair play to the Aussie commentator selling it well. I played against a team that Loughlin coached and spoke to him about that try. Very humble and appreciative that someone still speaks of it. Especially seeing I was only five when this happened. Loved watching Great Britian.

I'm usually a union fan but that was terrific. I too remember ' and he does a bit of boogie" even after all these years and always makes me smile. Those blokes were as hard as iron.

It's amazing to think that Mike Gregory and Roy Powell are no longer with us. They are the powerhouse second rowers that help Great Britain win this game.

Hahaha Gregory flat out, Chariots just jogging along behind him.. Martin Offiah was a real thoroughbred who made other speedsters look like cart horses... No wonder Billy Whizz Robinson said he was the quickest player he'd ever seen..

Summer rugby has ruined British rugby league. There is probably only one player from the 'super' league era of full time professionals that would get in this team(cunningham).
