I love Scoots parents! They are a take on Steve Irwin and Jane Goodall, two leading names in the studies of animals. Steve Irwin was my idol growing up and Jane’s studies with gorillas is amazing. I wanted to grow up and be just like them when I was a kid.

I think it's supposed to be a Crodile Dundee reference. But my first thought was Steven Irwin too.

Rather interesting that only _one_ of Scootaloo's aunts shares the family accent. It's almost as if only one them was related by blood... ;)

It was nice to see Scootaloo’s parents and aunts. Better late than never. Great reaction as always. Keep up the good work guys 👏👍😁👍❤️🎥🍿🍍🥥🍻🇺🇸🇦🇺✨🌙☀️✨🍵🍰✅. Ps- that creature that came into the school was a “Cragadile”. Although this one was smaller than the one that was first introduced in the beginning of S4 when the main characters were trying to deal with the plunder vines, etc from the Everfree Forest. Yet it did make a brief cameo in S9E8 when Chrysalis was traveling up Mount Everhoof she changed into a Cragadile to go under the frozen lake.

After all this time, Scootaloo’s parents have finally revealed themselves! I like how Snap Shutter and Mane Goodall are referencing the famous wildlife experts, Steve Irwin and Jane Goodall, that was clever.

Did y'all notice that only Aunt Holiday had an Aussie accent, and Lofty did not? I'll bet that was meant to imply that one of them of was related to Scootaloo by the blood, and the other was her partner (as written in the chapter book Scootaloo's aunts first appeared in).

I love how Snap Shutter appears to be based off of Paul Hogan’s Crocodile Dundee and the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin. Watched that show so much as a kid, miss him :(

Fun fact: Aunty Holiday & Aunt lofty actually 1st appeared in the chapter book "Ponyville Mysteries: Riddle of the Rusty Horseshoe" around the time season 7 (2017) was going on. They also appeared in the "Ponyville mysteries" comics long before this episode was made but they had a different designs because The show staff apparently didn't know MLP Comic staff gave the characters designs before creating the ones used in this episode since the 2 teams didn't communicate too often. Personally i like Lofty's Comic design a little more since it was more unique.

This became yet another one of my favorite CMC episodes, although many fans weren't very fond of it because the writers waited until the final season to introduce Scootaloo's parents, i mean i was glad that they were finally revealed and everything but on the other hoof i agreed that Scoots parents sucked, but Aunt Holiday and Auntie Lofty are awesome in fact those two were confirmed as the first ever canon LGBTQ couple in the FIM series, and in the end the CMC's both truly earned and deserved that 3 horseshoe key to the city in fact i for one consider it their greatest accomplishment.

@@TheCommenterDragon as stated my and lycan are bias on this. But as Aussies. The way the parents speak to scoot is actually alot more caring and considerate then what may be interoperated. Aussies are well known for not bothering with two words when 1 will do. Which tends to make us sound a little blunt. So yeh just putting thing in perspective :)

@changelingkingcocoon50293 жыл бұрын
My only issue with this episode is that Scooraloo's parents didn't come into the picture until halfway through the final season (not counting the Season 10 comics). I mean, even if it was only in the comics, we knew about Scootaloo's aunt's for years now. But no mention of her parents. In fact, in Parental Glidance, I assumed she was an orphan because of the look on her face at the end. Yes, you can see that it's joy. But I also see a hint of sadness, as if that was something that she's been missing for far too long. I suppose this episode does explain things while keeping that in mind though. This episode would've been much better respected in my opinion even if it were a Season 8 episode instead. Also, I think it was a Crocodile Dundee reference. But I'm glad I'm not the only one to think it's a Steve Irwin reference at first. But that's because I'm more familiar with the Croc Hunter. It might be a combination of the two, to be honest.
@7Seraphem73 жыл бұрын
Eh, Parental Glidance pretty much proved she can't be an orphan. Cause if she was, RD'S parents would have adopted her by the end, which mostly just left has parents, but they are never around, which was what the writers have said about her family situation since season 1.
@changelingkingcocoon50293 жыл бұрын
@@7Seraphem7 I'd argue that it just proves that there's already someone taking care of her, which was already in the comics (her aunts). I was probably also aware that she wasn't an orphan at that point, or at least was waiting for something. It's just the longing I see in her eyes at the end of the episode implies her parents not being around... which is technically true, just not in that way. Also, if they weren't going to address the idea of Scootaloo being an orphan, but were willing to address Gallus as being an orphan in Hearth's Warming Club, it's safe to say at that point that Scootaloo's not an orphan. And yes, even though it wasn't directly pointed out, it was implied that Gallus is an orphan.
@changelingkingcocoon50293 жыл бұрын
@@7Seraphem7 Also, I'd argue that the writers saying it isn't enough to confirm that it's canon. That's not to say it's not a good lead in my opinion. But if they have a series bible to keep track of lore like that before it's canon, it's just heresay. That does mean that you can include books and comics into that canon as well to give a broad range. That's how I know it's canon that Trixie went to Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, and even shared at least one class with Twilight.

While I was grateful to see the various characters that the CMC helped out, all gathered in this episode, it would’ve been nice if some like Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, and even Babs were more involved in this plot (with speaking lines even). Wishful thinking, perhaps. Still would have been nice though.

A great little send off and capstone to the CMC's importance throughout the show. And to think, they started out as three annoying kids that people hated having take screen time away from the 'real' mane characters.

The aunts are from a MLP storybook and are actually a married couple which is cute. Note that Scoot calls Lofty 'Auntie'. But calls Holiday 'Aunt', which I think is a neat way to notice though it's never outright stated. Also Scoot's parents were a big surprise to me, I was sure we were never going to see them and I dunno I have mixed feelings, I feel like Hasbro or whoever wasn't a fan of the idea of Scoot not having parents. I was more of a fan that she was an orphan, that and her parents just...In my opinion aren't good parents. They walk off and leave their young child because work is more important. I dunno it's just sorta harsh to do...I feel like we needed them built up more in other seasons.

What good is a fractional rating system, when no one ever uses 10? As if that number doesn't exist in such system? I give this episode a 10. I know there are better episodes and they get even more than that. Still fractional rating system for some reason makes it so everyone is afraid to give the very very good ratings some shows and movies deserve imo!
