i have passed usmle step 1, 2, 3. and did MD internal medicine from Nepal. how to practice in Australia. i have not gained graduate medical education in usa
@InterfaceMedical3 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Having passed USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 3, you’ve already cleared major international medical benchmarks. You may apply to the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) for provisional registration. Complete a 12-month supervised training period in an accredited Australian hospital. Upon successful completion, you can apply for General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA). For more details, kindly watch complete video.

Hi, I am done with 4 year residency in Radiology from pakistan and currently on Frcr pathway. After clearing FRCR and completing four year residency in pakistan, where do I stand in australian pathway? Does FRCR alone with post graduate training carry weightage in specialist pathway?
@InterfaceMedical5 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Holding the FRCR qualification enhances your application as it demonstrates that you have completed comprehensive, structured training equivalent to Australian standards. For radiologists, the assessing body is the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) which may consider parts or all of your FRCR training when assessing your application, potentially making the process faster and smoother.

Hello, do doctors who come to Australia under the Competent Authority Pathway (CAT - A) also need to complete rotations (medicine, surgery, and emergency care) during their practice under provisional registration in Australia in order to be eligible for General Registration? In my case, I'm a doctor with over 6 years of experience in my home country as a Senior House Officer, plus PLAB 1 and 2, and 1 year of experience in the UK in Dermatology (RMO). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@@InterfaceMedical I'm asking about the requirementy of doing rotations in Austrailia for doctors who come through the competenet authority pathway for RMO position, to obtain General Registration.

Hi, thank you for the video! I wanted to ask you one thing though. I'm a medical student in Italy and, since we do not have a rotation program here, I am considering going to the UK for the Foundation Programme (two years of rotation). At the end of the first year, I'll be eligible for full GMC registration, not just provisional. I want to work in Australia and was considering the competent authority pathway, but there's a problem. Since I'll graduate from medical school in Italy, for the GMC, I'm eligible for provisional registration WITHOUT taking the PLAB 1&2 exams; I just need an English evaluation test. If I obtain full GMC registration and complete two years of rotations without taking the PLAB exams, will I still be eligible for the competent authority pathway?
@InterfaceMedical8 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. After having full GMC registration and having 12 months supervised experience component in the UK, then you may apply for required pathway.

I have the same question as above. So doing plab or amc exam is not a requirement to apply for competent pathway?
@InterfaceMedical6 ай бұрын
@@arlynaugustine8969 Thanks for your comment. You may use different licensing exams (as explained in the video) with their additional experience to fulfill competitive pathway requirements.

Do junior doctors who come to Australia from the UK via the Competent Authority Pathway qualify to apply for Australian PR after completing 1 year of work in Australia? Is this a special PR route available only for doctors, or is it a points-based system where you get points for prior experience, age, English proficiency, etc.? I am an IMG, already 41, and planning to come to Australia once I complete my 12 months in the UK
