I cried so hard seeing the picture of a poor wallaby licking Its front paws that were burnt in the fire 😢😭😭😭😭😭 human beings have humanitarian aid groups and cops and what not evacuating them and making sure they weren't hurt. But a lot of these poor animals didn't get as much help as people did and so many were burnt with only a few being saved.... Also different species help break down some types of waste and are often pollinators and predators to other insects that could otherwise become invasive. It's a balance. Bugs are annoying but they are still needed.

It's happening naturally due to dry climate and windy weather. And heat as well which makes wood release a chemical that is flammable.
