Australian migration especially for non-priority categories is an emotional rollercoaster. The process is extremely stressful as it takes a long time with zero feedback from their immigration department. Its over an year since we lodged our 491 visa, completed health checks, biometrics but so far no response or feedback on visa grant. They have extended processing times for these visas and now 90% is processed after over two years. Just imagine that. Two years waiting after completing all the documentation. We have to get SL police clearance certificates again as the previous one has now expired after one year. The health checks too expire after an year. IELTS luckily has two years validity. All in all, Australian immigration department seem to mirror departments in Sri Lanka. Slow, inefficient and shares no progress with migrants. Looking at the shitshow that is Sri Lanka now, there's no option but to wait for rescue from another government.
