Jarrod, I think KL Rahul moving on number 5 or 6 can be a blessing in disguise in Pink ball test. As we need someone with good technique batting in that difficult period of twilight.

Due to patience of kl & jaishwal indian middle order didn't have to face new ball which helped india at 2nd inning. So dropping kl to no 5,6 will be bad idea.

Let’s have an active debate to convert all Indian pitcjhes to bouncy fast and pacy Perth like pitches as that’s where our strength lies now Spin is a story of the distant past and those tracks don’t suit the current lot

I'll say it here now; unless Australia find a couple of new batters (at least) before The Ashes England will win the series quite comfortably. Especially if England can keep most of their attack fit and healthy for a five match series. Aussie batting is shot; too many players way past their prime.

Bumrah is not going downhill from here. I have no statistics to back my claim but usually a cricketer reaches a peak in the age of 29-32. Bumrah is 29 so let's witness the best fast bowler in the world creating havoc all over the world for the next 2-3 years.

Marnus Labuschagne is the most undervalued asset right now given his sheer inherent quality...it is time to back him and buy truck loads of him. Despite his horrible run he averages 48 in test cricket in an age when test batting averages have slide world over on more decisive pitches. Either ways not many other options.

maybe India could rent out one of their spare top-order batters to Australia to ensure a competitive series. Will Young is also available for selection.

Both of you are wrong after this first test which india won by 295 runs india is just winning this series hands down by 3-1 or even 4-0 australias confidence is totally shattered after this humongous loss same as india went in the first test against New Zealand in Bengaluru where they lost by 8 wickets and then lost another 2 tests i will not be surprised if india does the same thing to Australia and win the next 2 tests and win the series in just the 3rd match and go 3-0 up already in a 5 match series

adelaide is v crucial match, only if india win there would i have lot more confidence of a series win that could be actually 4-1 to india. lets see can never count Aus out, que for Aus is can there batting line up score runs consistently for next 4 tests???

Poor quality of discussion. Last time India lost becoz of one poor innings. India had a lead in 1st innings. India will win becoz Indian batting is miles ahead of Australia
Any team cam loose but India has a terrific test side. By far best touring side in last 5-7 years. They have won twice in Australia, drew in England and drew in SA. What else one expects. Look at England's performance. They lost 4-1 in India and wins nothing in Australia. Australia looks terrible when they play in India. It's a brilliant Indian side regardless of what happens in this series.

@@sreemanta08India now really need to win in England. It’s hard to overstate how hugely important that series is going to be. With us losing in New Zealand and losing 4-1 Down Under in 2025/6 If England manage to lose at home against India (and if Root’s slump continues that will happen) then England is facing total oblivion and there will be literally nowhere to turn. Incredible to think that England are now, er, more unbeaten(!) at home in the last 10 years than either India or Australia. I phrase it this way because we haven’t necessarily rolled people over (a few drawn series including v Pakistan in 2016 and v Oz in 2019 and 2023).

England bowling outside England is club level. Last time India almost won the series. 1st test 5th day washed out, otherwise they would have won 3-1

They are good enough that they shouldn't have to crazy doctor pitches. The weather presented a NZ pitch in the first. They then presented two pitches that turned middle of the road spinners into something unplayable for their own batters
@sreemanta084 сағат бұрын
Terrible pitches which make avg spinner more potent. Very bad pitches and India doesn't require such pitches. They r such a balanced side. Look at England, their best player hasn't scored a hundred in Australia
