Hey Seaville

Hey Seaville

Күн бұрын

Step inside the chaos I create in. Am I the only one who works in such a mess? Will this be the motivation I need to clean?
Please send help 😂 And thanks for watching.

My goodness it’s like you have walked into my craft room except my table is a big rectangle also in the middle. It’s lovely to see a craft room being used for craft, not just a display room. I’m glad you have made a start it does feel not so overwhelming when you can see the table, mine is that bad that I’m crafting on our kitchen table instead. My husband got to big pieces of melamine from Bunnings and screwed them on top of the old table I had to make it bigger, but on the kitchen table. I did have one suggestion with your laces on loo rolls you probably have already tried it, but if you lay them on their side they won’t slip off and you can easily see what they are. Like the use of loo rolls. I’m pretty new at journal, but I’ve tried lots of other crafts over the years, I’m an expert starter! Take are and looking forward to seeing how your room goes take care Jodie x

OMG Jodie!! The loo roll suggestion is brilliant (hadn't even occurred to me 🤦‍♀️ ) It's been frustrating that some of the narrower laces slip off but your idea should fix that. Haha I'm sure we could both write a book on how to start things. That's what I find most enjoyable about new crafts - learning all the different techniques and trying them out. I've since done a bit more organising and have managed to clean in between projects so I'm seeing more of my table than I have before. Sounds like you have a lot of thing to keep you creative and helpful husband too!. Happy crafting xx

Hey Seaville Hi Melanie, another idea for your lace is if you cut a bit out of each side, like the DMC cards, that might hold them too. I still haven't had a chance to start mine yet, it not its worse! Oh well, Have a lovely weekend.

jodie trinder lloyd webb also another great idea. I got a little ambitious and moved two shelves from another room into the space so my stuff is less scattered around the place. It’s also helping me decide to purge a lot of things that have been stored away for ages. Hope you’re up to something enjoyable this weekend 🙂

Hey Seaville hi I’m busy trying to finish my entry for Tina @ Hummingbird Tales and something for Angela Kerr so I can get them in the post tomorrow, I’m running a little late. Any crafting is good, I’ve just seen your stitching on instagram, it’s so fine. Have a lovely Sunday xx

Thanks for this Melanie, a working craft room not a show piece. Only just found you and happy to find another Aussie. I use the mushroom packaging too. It make a pleasant change to see someone in action that goes to Spotlight and who is also a great starter but not so good a finisher. I reckon you can create or tidy but not both. Fairly often I just tidy up! My best tip is to start at one point in the room, the table is a good place to start, clear that and walk away. Then keep popping in to congratulate yourself on a tidy table, do not attempt to make anything. With me so far? My craft room is at the end of the house so I have a rule that every time I pop in I have to move three things, works for me. Good luck with your crafty journey. Wendi from Ocean Grove.

Hi Wendy, so lovely to meet you ☺️ I like your motto of sorts “create or tidy; not both”. Since posting this video I’ve moved a huge chair out of the room which was getting in the way. I also managed to clear the table entirely and made room for the vacuum cleaner 💪🏼 I felt very pleased with myself after that! I surprise myself at how quickly the table gets covered again but I’m also trying to put stuff away before the next project starts. One comforting thing I’ve learned is that there are a lot of creatives like us who have the same struggles. At the end of the day we make things because it’s fulfilling and a fantastic way to connect with others. The mess is inevitable 🤷🏻‍♀️Thank you so much for taking time to watch and write me a thoughtful message (and for subbing too 🥰) Happy creating and occasional cleaning. Take care xx

@@heyseaville55 Thanks for a quick reply. Good to know you were pleased with your result, that's important as it will encourage you to do another 'tidy' thing. I am in the midst of a re-arrange in my craft room, its amazing how different a room can feel by moving a table to face another way or moving a chair. Stay safe and keep busy.

I bet the room feels like a new space after the re-arranging. And sorry I spelled your name wrong earlier ☺

@@heyseaville55 I do feel as if I have a new room now, my table looks out onto greenery now and I feel as if I have more space to turn round in. Hope your room is progressing.

Thanks so much Karen! 😊 I'm pleased to say it (mostly) stays much tidier now. You're so sweet to want to binge watch my videos. I find myself doing the same, especially when it's another Aussie.

CraftyPaperBits ☺️ I was so embarrassed after filming that I quickly cleaned my table. But then I did some journaling & messed it up again. Never ending cycle 🤣
