The host said later that the reason she said the wrong name was because they never told her who the winner was in her ear piece, they were out of time or something. Since the other girl won the last round, the host assumed that it was her who won. I don't understand why they didn't tell the host before hand who had won, even if it was live, she should have already been informed. The contestants handled it well though.

I completely understand mistakes and other slip-ups happen on live TV, and being an Australian we're pretty chill-out about TV and these sorts of things anyway, but I felt like the presenter made it totally about her and drew more attention to the slip-up. She could have simply said clearly and sincerely: "I am so sorry, the results were fed to me wrong and the winner is Amanda". Instead she broke down and completely lost control of the situation and had to be consoled by the contestants when she was supposed to be the host?!? Even though there was a slip-up and it was terrible, she needed to remember that it was the WINNER'S MOMENT, not her moment to wallow in her embarrassment. Being beautiful is a great quality for a host of a modelling show but experience and professionalism is the CORE part of the (any) job. If you watch morning TV you'll know how it's done, when they 'lose' connection or when they have to cut 'live' to breaking news immediately, those people handle it daily with such control and professionalism. This woman was a mess!

You have got to understand Sarah knew these girls, they were almost "friends" and Sarah had true consideration and feelings towards all the contestants in Top Model, and she knew she had crushed someones dreams in a completely different manner than what it would otherwise be, Kelsey had it all and it was gone from her in a heartbeat due to her mistake and the tv departments. The real winner may feel bad because the other contestant has already say her speech, and here we can how sincere and accepting the other contestant is, even though she knows that she is not the real winner. Then . . . it was later announced _"the runner-up Kelsey will now receive $25,000 & a trip to New York"_. They should've also given her a car, an additional $20,000 in cash & at least set her up with a modeling agency.
