They need to revise a lot of the classes in aussie drag racing imo. Thats why you see a heavily modified street car vs a 4wd dedicated drag car. They might be both based off an OEM chassis but the gtr is about as far away as you'll ever get from that before you go to a back halved or full chassis drag car.

I love my V8s I have a non stroked Clevo in the 9"s However my next Project is a 6cyl Barra with GT4718 R in an XD panelvan 1000kw street Machine, why I chose a Barra because they're a Good combo and more than half the cost of getting those numbers out of a V8. I find it hard to listen to toss-potts slamming Barras and Turbo 6's etc... you Aussies should be Proud its the only all Aussie built engine?

I want to get a 9inch put in my xr6. i got an atomic engine with a GT42r C4 3000stall and i had big problems launchin it needed to be at least 4000rpm because its lag then wheel spin for a lousy 11.90. its all about the set ..this man seems to have found it.. my vid name.. xr6t with 585rwhp.

Joash Parker does it work with the factory ecu or complete standalone? ive researched more and im seeing megasquirt v3 can now control vvt. the downside is you gotta build it all from scratch. but, a plug and playable unit would be alot easier on my end.

I have used on myself but my understanding is that they are standalone. I think you might have to replace the factory ecu plug with a Haltec one.

Haltec elite plug in ecu plugs in to the stock wiring, also you can get the software to tune the stock ECU easily enough and they work well on the stock ecu.

ohhhh i dunno man ive seen 1200whp to 1500whp supras in the 8's even 7's, the rayglass celica with the 2jz in it is 2000hp and holds the fastest quarter in nz for pro street cars at 6.41 @ 356 km/h, i still do prefer the xr6 turbos though, this car is still stock weight 1.8 ton with 1100bhp, i wanna see a supra or a skyline that weighs that much and has that much hp and can do an 8, i beg to differ

Wow people are obsessed with need for speed, there are other engines out there besides the RB and 2JZ that can be used for racing. Anyway I don't think a 1800KG falcon is going to pull numbers as low as a 1500KG nissan/toyota that already has the advantage of short gearing.. My point here is, the barra turbo is pretty mad regardless.
