Typical English under appreciation of an Australian great - Nathan Lyon! The most test wickets by an English spinner is Derek Underwood with 297, followed by Graeme Swann with 255. Nathan Lyon has taken almost the same number of wickets as those 2 combined! But then again he is Australian ...wry smile.

Lyon was basically selected as the useful spinner who is in the side until we find 'the next Warne'. The Australian public thought of him in those terms all the way up until he had snuck up on 350 wickets, and it was only then that we realised he truly was the GOAT.

Warner did not announce his swansong as many people falsely believe. He honestly answered a question from a journalist that he would like to make it to Sydney IF HIS FORM WARRANTS SELECTION. The key lesson is never answer a journalist honestly.

At last an Eng. womens test review that doesn't pull punches. The result hurt this fan. Deepti was one of my fave players before That Thing. Objectively l have to say she was very effective.

MLC will be fine ... I think the bulk of the players that are playing are those of South Africans.. Its just the senior players who will be leaving the county system.. If I were county [or a Hundred franchise] , I would make investment in the MLC after the first expansion... you can raise money with American money.

Re the 'threat' to England's T20 Blast posed by the (US) MLC...how about England having an attack of sanity and ditching The 100? It is time for cricket to show some maturity and reconcile 'franchise/T20' cricket with 'representative' cricket. No ICC Champions' Trophy, World T20 every 4 years AND agreed windows to ensure balance between revenue-rich (T20) and not-so-rich (Test) cricket. Oh, and day/night Tests should become the norm in many parts of the world to maximise at-ground and broadcast audiences.

Warner did NOT announce that he was having his farewell test in Sydney. He said that IF he plays well enough up until that point, he will not play after the Sydney test. I don't love the bloke either, but let's not go around putting words into his mouth to make him look like a shit bloke.

Aussie here. Warner doesn’t deserve a send off. Teams should be picked on form, not emotion. Warner should have retired after his 200. That said, he’ll likely score a mountain of runs against Pakistan.
